telling the stories of victims to bullying.
Fantasies are ghosts that lurk in the darkest corners of our minds. Visiting the world of BDSM allows us to face them (whether we like it or not). Who hasn't had at least one fantasy of being dominated, blindfolded, handcuffed, and spanked? For this challenge, create a story that centers around a character entering the dark world of BDSM and the kinky experiences along their journey. Maybe beneath the leather, chains, and whips, love can be found.
Even crazy people need love
This challenge focuses on the character that is so crazily intent on getting the one they want to love them in return, that it clouds all rational thought. Or maybe that mental patient has a heart of gold as long as they take their meds. Either way love should be for everyone…right? So whether your character is a schitzo or a stalker, how far will they go to get the one they want?
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there were wondrous stories filled with witches, mermaids, big bad wolves, evil stepmothers, pied pipers and princesses of color. Your challenge is to create a revised version of a classic fairytale.
[Idea Credit goes to Chamberguest 03-21-12@8:02pm]
If you can hear Paula Abdul's 90s hit playing in your head then you understand exactly what this challenge is about. Your mission - should you choose to accept it- is to chronicle, showcase, highlight the love affair or hate to love evolution of one couple. It can be fanfiction, existing original characters, or a new pair sparked by the concept of this challenge. Dark and dramatic pieces are welcome. Fluff and cuteness beyond belief is also accepted.
Put your fingers to the keyboard and let the fun begin.
I recently saw a Charleton Heston Movie entitled "The Naked Jungle" where that big sexy hunk was a virgin and he wanted a wife who was a virgin, but she turned out to be a widow. Most love stories have the woman as the 'innocent virgin' and the male as the experienced one.
This challenge is to have a strong sexy alpha who just happens to still be a virgin and an experienced female ready to put him out of his misery. LOL. The male should be well over the age of consent. Charlton Heston's excuse was that he was out in the jungle building a plantation and there were no white women around so he had to order a mail order bride. It's not 1954 anymore, so I'm sure we can come up with some imaginative explanations for male virginity!
We’ve all heard the saying but never take it literally. This challenge is to create a story centered on a character that has a disability of any sort. Whether he/she is a blind gardener, a paraplegic teacher or a mute mechanic, they may have their limitations but their hearts are always capable of love.
Roses are red. Blood is blue. Love is forever, but revenge can be too...
They say that what goes around comes back around three fold. This month's challenge is all about the flip side of attraction, love, and lust. But instead of the typical love gone wrong cliché, this challenge focuses on selfish, self-serving you-know-what's getting their hearts handed back to them on a silver platter. Literally. The couples can be male/female, male/male, female/female, or any other combination so long as one of them is getting his or her just desserts.
When "happily ever after" fails
And we've been poisoned by these fairy tales
The challenge is to write about what happens when things don't work. When our childish dreams prove to be exactly nothing more than chilish fantasies? Expectations are failed to be met and it is time to pick up the pieces? How do you start again? Do we learn from our mistakes and do things better next time? Does it make you a better person? Is it ineviatable?
New Years Eve is a time for celebration, partying, and of course, New Year's Resolutions
This challenge is to write a story about a New Year's Resolution. What is it? How do you feel about them? Do you keep them? Are they a complete waste of time and a lie to oursevlves?
You can respond to the challenge here.
Any type of story you wish, no restrictions other than a New Year Resolution is involved in some way.
Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

Christmas is a time of year that is wonderful for many of us, and sometimes sad too. A time of family and friends, feasting and overindulging, and of course, a time for GIFTS!!
This challenge is to write a story about a Christmas gift, Giving or receiving, or perhaps one wished for and never given or never received. Any type of story you wish, no restrictions other than a Christmas Gift is involved in some way.
Merry Christmas to those that celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to those that don't.
This month as we move into the holiday season, the time of year when we come together with those we love, the Chamber wants to challenge our writers and some readers too, to pen a tale about our brave military heroes who will be returning home from the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq.
All of us here have either seen our real life GI Joes moving quickly through the airport; or perhaps he is the man in your life, who is on his way back to you. Who doesn't love a man in uniform?
The story can be a fanfic or an original piece, just get writing as we honor our brave, loyal, sexy, military men. Are you up for the challenge?
Little known fact, September is National Piano Month! An instrument of sadness, joy or rage. A gift. A curse? Where an artist spills his emotions over a row a keys. Similar to writer and her keyboard, no? Therefore the challenge is to create an original story including a piano or any musical instrument for that matter. Much like romance, there is just something bewitching about a black grand piano

Crazy about every single track on Adele's new cd 21?
Are you plagued by fic ideas everytime you hear Rolling in the Deep, Turning Tables, or her cover of Lovesong. Well here's your chance to get all of those thoughts out of your head and onto the screen.
Original fic and fanfic welcome.
You see it in movies, you read about it…… smooching in the surf as the waves wash over you. Making love in a scented candle-lit room. Finding a beautiful engagement ring in a glass of Moet champagne?
Authors, your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to take these romantic clichés and turn them on their proverbial heads.
Sand can get pretty itchy if it gets into the wrong places, plus you have to watch out for that seaweed. Oh, did we mention the sand crabs?
Don’t get to enthusiastic with your lovemaking in that candle lit room – you might kick over a candle and…..whoops!
Oh, wow, you didn’t see the ring in the glass of champagne? You….swallowed it??
No trope is off limits, go where your imagination takes you.

I would like to submit a challenge for a modern day tale about a royal falling in love with a commoner of color. It doesn’t even have to be a royal, maybe the President or some world leader etc…(no CEO‘s or wealthy persons), it would be interesting to read about the dynamics of a relationship growing out of this situation. It would be great to see how would they meet (they don’t have the same social circles), his/her gaffs in being introduced to their world (he/she does not know the rules/protocol), the “royals” gaffs in being confronted with how commoners live and survive ( he/she is appalled and surprised how everyday people live.)
By nature of the story it would be “fairy tale” like but no “white knight” rescues. Make he/she work for it, make them come down to the commoners level, and let the commoner grow and expand their world without losing the essence of themselves (both “royal” and “commoner”.)
Another idea is maybe the “royal” is broke (although it couldn’t be a sitting President or world leader if they are penniless) and has to adjust to living in the “everyday world”. While watching the royal wedding this idea came to me and I thought the talented writers of The Chamber could make this idea into a great tale.
Spring is the perfect season to start an adventure that could last a lifetime. Via road, air, rail or sea what better (worse) way than a planned perhaps even impromptu vacation. Find love, make new friends or ditch old ones. Whether it be beachside, countryside, mountainside or an exotic location, allow your characters (new or old) to get the spring on a new life.
Don't you remember your first love? That warm, fuzzy feeling you got everytime you saw him. Well, now it's time to write a story about teenage love. The story could include that one high school sweetheart, your first boyfriend/love, or that one famous guy that you were lucky enough to have a connection with. The stories could be about anything as long as the characters are teenagers.
It’s October again and you know what that means. It’s time for The Chamber’s third annual Grindhouse Challenge. You know the drill, give us your scariest horror story or your sexiest trick or treat tale, fanfic or original, it’s all welcome. We love Halloween here at The Chamber. Are you up for the challenge?
We're all about the marrieds this month at The Chamber. Original or fanfiction, tell us a story about a couple that has taken that ultimate step. Is it happily married bliss or their own personal hell? How the story ends is up to you, just so long as your leading lady has ring on her finger.
Sometimes "I do" is only the beginning. Are you up for the challenge?
We’re trimming the fat this month or in this case getting rid of a few pesky words. The challenge is to write your best one shot story that contains no more than 1,000 words. There’s no minimum requirement and the story can be fan fiction or original. Just make sure you stay below the word count limit.
We’re pushing ourselves to the creative limit at The Chamber. Are you up for the challenge?
Women can never be the players, the villians or the bosses. This challenge more about breaking gender barriers. What if the woman was the crime boss? The the killer? the savior? The heart breaker? The women in this challenge are NOT the damsels in distress, they don't care what anyone thinks of them, they take what they want, and they never tie sex and emotions together. they are the alpha females, and they never apologize for it.
I've always wanted to read a story with a heroine like this, oblige me if you will. lol
