I son't trust Yuki's mother. That turnabout seems contrived to get her what she wants; which is total control of Shouda.

Sweetie this story if possible, seems to get better and better.
I love Sara's parents and her brother. They love her a lot and it is clear right now she really needs it. Karoud is becoming quite a friend to Sara and both ladies need it. Yuki is standing up finally and becoming the man he should have been a long time ago in his family. Shouda is LOVE, he is the perfect son..what an excellent job his mom has done with raising him. But like Sara's parents I am worried about her too..everybody seems to getting what they want and growing at her expense. She is strong but even the strongest person needs someone to lean on sometimes...so I am glad her parents are coming..she needs their support and I hope she finds some to love and care for her. Who knows what may happen betweeen Yuki and Karou but Sara should not have to wait and see...she is too special for that...she needs someone to be head over heels for her too...someone to love her!!
To think this was almost a one shot! You writing is exceptional sweetie! Your grasp of the culture and the way you make it come alive to us the readers with each word is extraordinary!! Even before the beautiful video..and it was beautiful...I could visualize this place and the thinsg they were living through so perfectly. I have never such an excellent first view of the Japanes culture, in all it's formality before but it is the richness and excellence of your writing that enable the reader to do just that .....
Great job sweetie...I cannot wait for more....here comes the parents..that will be quite interesting to say the least!!

Yay for Yuki! He's getting props now, though very few. Your observations about Sara are very accurate, however I think things are in place for her to get the love and support she needs. I know, you comment about his almost being a one shot kind of blew me away too. Its been fun writing it.

Well, I'm team Yuki and Sara if that counts for anything. I like the way you are writing the story and ultimately I would like to see where you take it and how you develop the characters. My preference though is for Sara and Yuki to find their way together, but I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you write simply because you are a delightful writer.

Thanks for the great update. Is Sara sad that Yuki and his wife are trying to make their marriage work when she is still in love with him? I like his wife Karoi. Yuki's mother is a trip. I can't wait for both grandparents to meet because I am sure that Percy has something for Ms pushy.
Thanks for the pictures of Japan. I was there with my daughter in June 2009. We were there for a week. What a beautiful country. I was very saddened by the earthquake and the Tsunami. We stayed in Tokyo at the New Otani Hotel. Here is the link: http://www.newotani.co.jp/en/tokyo/ This was a beautiful hotel with a waterfall and Koi fish. It also had a shrine. We went on a lot of tours to various destinations in Japan like Nikko (I loved Nikko). We also went to Disney Tokyo. The most amazing thing about visiting Japan was how nice people were to us. I loved their public transit system. One day while sitting on a tour bus I saw this mass exit from the train, hundreds of people just appeared out of nowhere it seemed. I have lots if pictures of my trip to Japan too. I made a video of my trip at CVS on a CD. Anyway sorry to take up so much time reminiscing about Japan. I just wanted to share that I have been there and that I am enjoying the story immensely. I believe that Sara is not sad that Yuki is trying to make things work with Kaoru, but that he didn't do the same with her. She really loved him, as I hope the flashbacks can attest. She is bitter about his lack of courage where she was concerned. Does she still love him? Well, I don't think she even knows the answer to that question.
As to your personal note. Thank you very much! It was wonderful. Thank you for the links, that hotel looks fabulous and the book looks interesting. I might have to look into getting it if I can. If you feel comfortable, I would love to see some of your pictures. I'm thinking of doing another video so if you have some where you and your daughter do not appear, please send them. I can incorporate them. Or if they are on flicker or something, I would love to see them. I'm always happy to meet people who have been as it is a very special place for me.
Also, I am so glad that you are enjoying the story!

I just read this story and really, really enjoyed it. I also loved your taste of Japan video.
Although Umezawa-san is a despicable person I love your interpretation of her. Sara handed her her ass, and I loved that Yuki and his father backed Sara up. As far as love matches, I'm Team Saki, they were/are in love. Kaoru is finding herself thanks to Sara but does she really belong with Yuki? Being that Japan is steeped in tradition, I'm pretty sure divorce is not a common as it is in the USA. Kamir is a decent guy and would be a good friend or even a good man for Sara if she wasn't in love with Yuki. Can't wait for the next update or to see Darren Percy arrive in Japan.

I feel for Sara. she's trying to be so compliant with everything for her son's sake but she still has those feelings/dreams for a happy family btw shouda, yuki, and herself. I don't know which direction you will choose to go with the pairings but I honestly do believe that she should move forward with someone new instead of backward with yuki. he does need to make it up to her, but i think they can do that as friends. looking forward to seeing how yuki's mom and sara's mom get along.

I just started reading this story and I love it. I don't Yuki he is a punk who gave up on his love to marry for status. I want a happy ending but he would have divorce Karou in order for that to happen. Yuki won't do that because he has not spine!!

Wonderful, Yuki you are still a punk bitch, Sara I wish happyness for you. Please do not let Yuki break your heart again. He is weak and he only pretending to be somethinng that he can never be. A measure of a man is when he defends the woman he love against racist and unlearn people. I feel for Sara because I had a similar story accept no offspring. I kick that punk ass mentally. This story brought back that period in my life, Loving and living well is the best revenge because Sara you will find someone better. I know this is fiction but the emotions that Sara is feeling is real to me. Thank you

I was very touched by this review. There is no praise greater than when one(writer) can tap into real emotions and convey them sincerely and accurately to the reader. While I am very sorry you have suffered through a similar situation, I am equally gratified that at least I am transmitting the emotions accurately. Though a work of fiction in which the situation is glossed over and possibly even played around with some, I take very seriously your feelings and hope that I in no way minimize or make fun of them.
