where does one start..
On one hand I feel sorry for her because if he isn't strong enough to go against his family she is going to be so hurt and it will take a LONG time to get over him.
I am so glad that her mother made this happen for her I think that was so sweet of her mother.
I do agree with her mother though..if it isn't going to be long term get out now. It will be easier to get over later. Experience unfortunately has taught me that the longer you drag things out the longer and harder it is for you to get over him :(
On a another note, girl you almost gave me heart problems I saw the update and got so excited! lol, thanks again Alison

Wow; so the Dragon-lady does have a heart...who knew :) Seriously though I'm pretty shocked that Pearl came through for Joss; she impressed me with her insight and reading of not only her daughter but Eshan too.
Soooo, what will our dear Eshan decide...it's obvious the decision is getting harder and harder for him as time goes on...hopefully he chooses to be happy, rather that doing what will please his family.
Can't wait to find out what happens next...maybe Sahirah and Chris will be abducted by aliens...I can only wish...lol...

I see that the first beatdown Chris received wasn't enough. Alright, Joss you seriously need to tell Eshan about what Chris did, because he might continue what Eshan interrupted.
Hirah, Hirah, Hirah........you are seriously messed up in the head. I hope that Chris doesn't ruin you as much as I fear he will.
I hope that Eshan and Joss end up together, because I can tell how much they are in love with each other. I hope that Eshan realizes/knows how much Joss is the center of his life now and vice-versa. My favorite line from this chapter would have to be:
“I ain’t talkin’ bout yo’ eyes, Baby. I was talkin’ bout his.”
I just wanted to let you know that I really love your story and whenever I get on the net I always come to the Chamber to see if you have updated that day or not. Even if you haven't update, I always go back to the beginning and read up to the latest chapter. Joss and Eshan have to be my favorite couple by far from the stories that I have read from the Chamber so far. I hope that you will be able to update soon!

Joss having to put her life on hold for a man who's only willing to kiss her in the dark because of his family and religion isn't fair. oh well, Joss seems fine with their arrangement...for now.

Lol. It's good to know I'm not the only one contending with a "Pearl."
I agree that telling Eshan about Chris's threat would have probably been the better way to go. But Joss was worried that if she told him, Eshan would be facing heftier charges for killing Chris or coming close to it. For some reason, she thinks her threats will keep Sahirah quiet, depriving Chris of his only witness. We'll soon see how well that works out for her.

You might be right about Joss's decision to withhold info on Sahirah's betrayal coming back to bite her. She did it because she knows that if Eshan finds out Hirah's been seeing Chris, Eshan will tell Hirah's parents and both of them will be forced to leave. We'll soon see what that omission costs Joss. I love your story and how you update so quickly!
She should tell Eshan. His cousin is a simpleton and would sell her cousin out in a heartbeat. She could get Eshan out of the way and lie to her family without confessing her own sins. She's an idot.

Joss made a judgment call on keeping Chris's proposal from Eshan. She didn't want to worry Eshan or provoke him to violence when she assumed her threatening Hirah would be engouh to derail Chris's plans. We'll soon see if that was the right decision. You know, I said I wasn't going to wwaste my time talking about Sahrah anymore, but I really just want ot strangle her right now! How could she rat out her own cousin to the scum of the earth. The fact that he is demanding that Joss sleep with him so that he doesn't report Eshan should spea volumes to her but she still does not get it...ugh...how dumb could she possibly be...
Gosh, even though I am not a big fan of Joss' mom, she actually made sense and it gives me a slither of hope that Eshan will follow his heart and choose Joss (hopeful romantic that I am...lol).
Chris is a truly despicable character...I guess he just wants Joss because he has not fallen for his slimy "charms" or something...so glad she didn't fall for that...

I really love these two together, and even though I can totally see Jos' heart being broken, the situation seems a bit more hopeful. Eshan does have feelings for Joss and they appear to be pretty strong...maybe love will be enough in the end...I can only hope...
Sahirah on the other hand, there is no hope for, so I'm not even going to waste my breath lamenting about her dumb ways...guess we should just be grateful that she hasn't ratted out her cousin, since it's obvious where her misguided loyalties lie.

Hirah works my last nerve!!! Chris got exactly what he deserved because he would have raped Joss if he got he chance. She is falling in love with Eshan who has told her that her not being Iranian or Muslim makes their relationship null and void. Which is stupid to allow her heart to become attached to a man who will never commit to her. Although I do hope that she wins his heart and commitment.

Their feelings are running so deep. It will be a major catastrophic heartbreak when he returns to california. I like to think anything is possible but I just don't know. I have to believe if nothing else this "relationship" has opened their eyes to things about what they would want in a significant other if it can be each other. They really seem to make each other better people. Can't wait to read more even though I have the kleenex ready for a sad chapter.

I kinda felt bad for Chris because I don't think he wanted to harm Joss. I just think he wanted let her know he went to far because of his ego. He really thinks all the women want him . He won't be trying anything with her again. I am glad Eshan found out about Shairah's little affair with Chris. He is such a jerk when he displays his blatant disregard for these women's feelings. Hopefulyl that ass whipping will help him and he'll be a changed man. Chris had just been threatened with criminal charges. He was going after Joss out of self-preservation rather than remorse. We'll see if one ass whoopin' is enough to change him.
It could be that I'm drawing too much on personal experience that's not easily relatable and/or that I'm not effectively conveying the character's underlying reasoning and emotions, but I understand why Joss and Eshan are taking the chance they are. When I was a little younger and lacking in experience in life and love, I took risk I wouldn't take now for the same reason I assume most people take risks: The benefits appear to outweigh the costs (especially the delayed ones). It wasn't always advisable. But it was what I chose and how I learned. We'll see what lessons this experience teaches Joss and Eshan.

You called it, Treale. Chris has collapsed their little house of cards, and Hirah is still willfullly blind to who he is. She is starting to look like a lost cause. There's a little ways to go, so maybe she'll redeem herself...maybe.
I'm so glad you're enjoying Joss and Eshan as a couple. They were sort of cruising along in their anomalous little relationship. But this is a major roadblock. We'll soon see the resulting fallout.

As much as I am in love with Eshan, I think that Joss really needs to leave him alone. She heard from his own lips that he would not consider marrying someone from a different faith than himself.
So she sould not bother with someone who has no intention of marrying her. So I think that she should meet someone else that would accept her or even have Eshan realize that "hey, Joss is an amazing woman, and I don't want to give her up."

Poor Joss has never been in love and therefore has no idea how difficult it is to walk away from it. I think that's why she was willing to explore this thing with Eshan despite knowing it couldn't really go anywhere. She was already very fond of him, so it could also be an "I've got nothing to lose" line of logic at work.
Now that she's involved, it's not going to be easy to just give him up. We'll soon see if she can or if she's forced to, and who--if anyone--will be waiting on the other side. Thanks for reading and reviewing, Faithmax!
