I figured that's how she got away. Its sad that her own damn parents don't even support her. To hell with them, I would have shot his ass several times. Used all the damn bullets. So how was she able to get into the military? That record alone is a complete red flag.

I read this chapter again and it pissed me off even more the second time.    Really, she was turning 16 married to the man that she shot, did anyine see anything wrong with that situation? Did the Public Defender not ask her about her life?  Her migldigstion was the fact that she was to forceed to marry Howard at the age of 13. Further mudigation is being forcrd to have sex eith digusting sex offender and the physical abuse whicj caused her to miscarry. No one came to her aid!  Faith needs counseeling bad!!  I want to hit Ferry in his throat real bad!

I hope the overruled the thing and had cameras seeing what happened to her before the date. Especially if she is a victim of abuse. I'm so pissed off its not even funny, but I get its just a story. At the same time my mother is a victim of abuse but like others he stops and she stays.

How did Faith get covered in blood, if she shot him? Did she try to move the his body?  How close had Howard the scum gotten to Faith before she fired?   I am glad that he'should dead!! Now I am wishing death on her parents.

This chapter was  not for sensitive people. I'm glad Faith was able to kill her abuser. In the real world Faith as a black child,female, would have been trial as an adult. Sentenced to life in prison without parole. Studies have showen that black girls/women are punished more severely than other groups. Your writing is wonderful. Keep up the good work. You know as I was reading this, I was thinking, she needs to kill him. She really had no choice. Her family wouldn't help her. She really had no one but herself and after having tried to get away from this f'ker before, she knew what would happen if she did get away this time, he was always going to be after his "property".

Gah, this girl couldn't catch a break back then. It doesn't seem as if she got therapy for her many instances of trauma. She really needs psychological help.

This was hard to read, but it happens to women in the real world. Maybe, not to this extent, but someone, somewhere is going through a version of this hell on a minute by minute basis.

Well done, Chica.

Faith should have never told Howard her game plan. It was time for Howard to die, this girl did what she had to do in order to survive. Howard came running toward Faith, he's the stupid one to run to a bullet that's self-defense to me. The law is stupid to witness bruises old and new on someone and not give them the benefit of the doubt, is ludicrous to me. Faith is better off by herself who needs family if they are going to side with the abuser over their daughter, they will need Faith one day. If it takes 2 years in order for her to get her life back, I believe she will do it without any problems. Faith is strong and she's a fighter, which equals to a WARRIOR in my book. Thanks for the update MP.

I find this a bit hard to believe. No one questions her motive for murder? No one? A 16 year old girl kills a grown ass man while covered in bruises and no one looks into it and thinks self defense? I can't.
