Title: Chapter 49: Chapter 49
I read this in one go and have to say that I had the dubious pleasure of reading all your author's notes in succession. I wanted to read this earlier but due to my schedule and the length of the story I felt I was too far behind to ever start. Having read it I have to say I really like the story. I think it has enough story line and sex scenes to statisfy erotica as I believe you are going for. The endless whining and supplication for reviews at the end of chapters though could be reduced. I find that people tend ot review when they have time and the mood takes them or something particularly powerful engages them in a chapter or storyline. You can not force it out of them otherwise you will get crap feedback.
The characterizations are great and I think that you ahve take the necesary time to develop each in their own right. I wouldn't speed up the story any because I think the flashbacks and self doubt scenes offer necessary insights. I don't like Kirk as I believe his character was intended to be skeazy and Steve I am still on the fence about. I didn't realize Jodi was 42 which puts all the characters in my opinion in midlife crisis range explaining their nigh schizophrenic behaviour. At times they appear like hormonal teenagers and others mature business people. Jodi has to be the most frustrating character for me though. I want to empathize with her but I feel she does bring a lot of her life's woe on herself. At so many points in her life people want to help her and she rejects that help to suffer in not quite silence. If she came from a broken or underprivileged home where she didn't understand her self worth or people did not care about her welbeing I could understand her reaction to Kirk's abuse and her continued silence even to the detriment of her relationship with her fiance and her family. I have a ningling feeling that Dan is the next one to take advantage of her because she will let him and wonder if it is her fate to be abused. She accepts her victimization she readily it is a bit disgusting. You almost want to slap her and tell her to man up!
Author's Response: Thanks for your comments...You will often people in their 30s, 40s and 50s that behave like these characters. Midlife crisis? Probably, but it occurs nevertheless.
Their behavior, especially if they are single, may mirror what I have written in these chapters. A person who comes from money can have the same problems as someone without money.
I hope that I am not misinterpreting one of your comments, but emotional issues aren't based upon one's socioeconomic background.
Thanks again for taking time to...I want the readers to know that I like the interaction - if it's whining, then oh well! LOL!
