This story is very well written. I enjoy learning Japanese culture.  Sara is poised and gracious and feisty at the same time.  Good job!!

Girl, you had me tearing up!

Powerful stuff...to admit one's fears and insecurities, out loud, to a stranger, never mind someone you feel has the upperhand on you...very deep!

Author's Response:

Thank you! It is, especially since the culture does not express emotions by rule. :)

wow this is a really exceptional story. the first chapter was a little confusing at first but then i remembered that she was having random memories. I really hope that the relationship between Koura and Sara becomes a strong friendship. I cant wait for the next up date keep up the good work

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm sorry about the first chapter. I tend to jump around anyway. Please forgive me.

Thank you for taking a look! :)

Now that is an interesting turn. For the two women of Yuki's life to become friendly? Kaoru needs support and if Sara is the one giving it to her, so much the better.

I almost feel bad for Yuki, but he knows that he missed out on something very important.

Love, love love Sara's parents. And Sara's occupation. I love paper.

Author's Response:

Another paper lover!! Woot! Thanks Acorn!

Sara is all woman and a wonderful person ..and Karou is a good person to see the sweetness and charm of Sara..it is neither of their faults they are in this situation....However,,Yuki is 100% to blame..had he had some spine and stood up to his oarents letting them know he was going to be the woman he loved neith Sara or Karou would be in this situation..he is the one to be mad at,,,

Yuki mother is poison and I never want my child around her..maybe Sara's parents can come in and get her straight..parent to parent!!

I really like this story sweetie..excellent job!!

Author's Response:

I agree that Sara is one cool cat. I don't know how I would be in her place. You are right, they both suffer to some degree, but who to blame really. Oh, you already answered that. I agree, Yuki needs to get it together.

As to the parent to parent...just hold that thought!

Thank you for reading and your encouragement!!

Nice update.
Now will they become friends? Will Sara and Yuki have a life together or will Kaoru find her own way?
this is interesting.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Yes it is. Stay tuned. :)

It's really sweet how Sara comforts Kaoru she's living in a nightmare with a loveless marriage and inlaw's who dispise her, maybe after this talk things will change for the better between her and her husband and inlaws. Thanks for the heartfelt chapter Sara is a amazing, after everything shes experienced she deserves ai and shiawase.

I just read the whole thing. I feel sorry for Kaoru's sterility and arranged loveless marriage issue, but her comments about being ashamed that her husband helps the less forunate and not wanting to do it herself made me dislike her as a person. Sara is a good person, I hope she finds someone deserving of her and Shouda. The American granparents are interesting.

Author's Response:

Good point. She has personal issues she needs to work through as well. Glad you like the grandparents. They will be back.

Thank you!

Thanks for a great update.  Not sure why Karou went to see Sara.  I like the way that Sara dealt with the grieving woman.  I also enjoyed Sara's parents.

Author's Response:

You are very welcome. Kaoru went to see Sara because she literally had no where else to go. It shows how desperate she is for understanding. I feel for her. I'm glad you liked the parents.

Thank you!

great chapter!!  i really like sara and i love shouda and want them to have their hea, but for some reason i am starting to feel that it may not be with yuki.  did she really forgive him for kicking her to the curb like that?  i mean really, truly forgive him or did she just go one with her life and raising her son, never really touching upon how it really made her feel?  she loved him, and gave birth to his son and he treated her like shit. hell, he was engaged, even if it was arranged.  i don't think that culture can justify that.  can you move on from something like that?

Author's Response:

Will it be Yuki or no? That is the question. I don't think most readers want her to be with Yuki at this point. Not quite sure that I blame them either. Did she forgive him? Well, I think you will get your answer as things move along.

Thanks!

i am so glad kaoru had this discussion with sara. it's an unlikely 'friendship' but i think this will be the beginnings of kaoru living for herself. i find it kind of disturbing how yuki's dad finds it amusing how his wife goes around bullying people and just tags along for the show. I mean what's up with that. his wife is more easy to figure out, she's a bitch, point blank. i wonder who's going to finally put her in her place? I kinda hope it's either karou or shouda. Great update!

Author's Response:

Aaak! LOL! thank you for your observations. Yes, it is an unlikely friendship, but sometimes those are the best kind.

I really liked this Update.  I like Yuki's father saying what he really thinks and anticipating the change coming.  I like that Karou-san went to see Sara and was able to lift her burden.  Maybe now Karou-san will take back her life, no matter what others say.  And I also liked that Yuki found it difficult to see the albums of pictures of his son, Shouda.  He drank until he couldn't feel.  Yes, this was necessary because he really did NOT APPRECIATE Sara and maybe he will never under appreciate her again.  But what I REALLY liked was Sara's conversation with her parents.  Very, very nice touch.  Her father is so funny inviting her to come home...for 12 years!  And her mother saying they need to get tickets to go save Sara.  I love them.  I can see why Shouda loves them too.

Very much looking forward to your next Update.

Nyeesha

Author's Response:

You get the impression that there is more to the Umezawa parents than meets the eye, with his little revelation...at least, I hope. Someone else questioned as to why I wrote it that way for Sara and Kaoru. I wanted the readers to recognize her desperation. That would NEVER happen. Kaoru is floundering just as Yuki's mother says. She's reaching for anything she can grab hold of. Sara was willing to be a life preserver. Yuki has many things stirring around inside him. He has to find a way to deal with them and sometimes running away is the only option at present. As to her parents, they will be back I promise and hopefully just as colorful.

Thank you as always!

Loved the update. I am glad that Kaoru came at her like a real woman and not some scorned bitch. Now if only the evil witch that is Yuki's mother would take a page from the Woman's Guide on How to Act she might not have to get cussed out. But if my psychic powers are correct, it won't be that easy and there is gonna be a lot of cussing and possibly a beat down from Sara's mom! (hint hint) Ever heard the Hustle and Flow soundtrack? "Whoop dat Trick"!

Author's Response:

Exactly! I agree with you about Kaoru. Hey can you send me a copy of the Guide? Don't worry, Sara's mom will be in the mix. No, I should go look that track up on iTunes.

Thanks!

I really do love the story especially the mother son interaction. Sara's parents are too funny...had me cracking up!!! Glad the talk between Sara and Kaoru stayed positive. Maybe this talk will allow Kaoru to be happy and live her life to the fullest. She needs to talk to Yuki and stop running away. Awesome story so far.

Author's Response:

I always think there must be a special bond in single-parent homes. I don't know. Glad you liked Sara's parents, they WILL be back. Thank you!

Sara you are a rare person, you combined strength with kindness. Kaoru it is time to leave that family. Yuki you are still a wimp and a punk, Sara eventually you must put your foot on Yuki mother neck, then she will behavior. Excellent........

Author's Response:

OMG! LMAO!!!!! "you must put your foot on Yuki mother neck..." LOL, that triped me up, I think I even fell out my chair when I read it.

Thanks for the advice!

Awesome chapter!!! I hope that you can update as much as you can this week, I really love this story:) I am really looking forward to it! I feel so sad for Kaoru, I hope that she and Sara become good friends, and that she finds something that will make her happy. I really hope that Yuki's mom does not do anything to take Shouda away from Sara, that would really make me upset. Well I am looking forward to your next update :)

Author's Response:

Thanks! Sorry it took so long to update. :)

If anything i hope Sara and Kaoru become friends.  Please dont let Kaoru become evil. I really hope Yuki and her find love together.

As for Saras parents lol love them.

Author's Response:

Truthfully, I don't care for evil characters, misunderstood, overeager, stupid, oblivious I can deal with. Evil...no so much.

Aww! I hope that Sara and Kaoru can find friends within each other. I would like to know more about Yuki though and see what he thinks knowing about Shouda. I understand his character, but I onder what his childhood was like growing up around his mother.

Author's Response:

Will be touching on all those points as we move along. Thank you for sharing your desires!

I really liked the latter part of this chapter. I'm so glad the wife has not been demonized so far. I feel bad for her. She really has no one to talk to. poor thing... and to be trapped in the same household as that mother-in-law of hers, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Author's Response:

Yes, the exchange between Kaoru and Sara was very nice. I kind of surprised myself with that one. But when I found myself going in that direction, my own feelings got mixed up in there.

Thank you!

Hasta pronto!
