Wonderful story!

I started reading the story and stopped where the three black guys approached Billy and Paris, but Big Willie saved them.  I thought I can't do this racism thing, but I eventually  came back to the story because you were posting so often.  I'm glad I did.  I loved it.  I loved how Charles became a better person.  I loved how Billy was a man who knew what he wante and wasn't afraid to go against the grain. You got me lookimg forward to the  80's and 90's. 

I hope that Paris' condition gets better and that Billy sticks it out long enough to pay off his college tuition. Hopefully he can get some revenge on this firm by moving on to a bigger and better law firm and taking away clients who do think progressively. I look forward to reading about the 90's because the 80's were still hard on interracial couples in the South.

I absolutely love this story. Thank you for gifting us with it. I hope to read a follow up in the near future.

Hi Brenda, I know that you research thoroughly as the events are accurately written...and now that you've lived in that era then it just adds more authenticity.  For me, I was mostly hinting at an epilogue again...like I would love to read about their lives years later and with my saying "I'd like to think that as time goes on people in that decade became more tolerant"...was me thinking that by 1975-1979 things were getting better with race relations.  I didn't grow up in the era but I sometimes romanticize the 70s...I just think it was cool decade, lol. I also know someone who grew up in that same era that you did...and was asked out on dates by white men (I don't know what year this was ) and of course this person politely declined.

Oh by the way, the pic of Paris Branch is familiar.  Do you know who it is?
