Many fanfic writers have dealt with the question of Vulcan survival in interesting ways.  They must become used to interacting with humanoids who are different from them in order to survive, but not all are willing to do so.  Spock knows from difficult personal experience how tough this will be!  Thanks for reading :)

Why is Spock feeling uneasy about this trip to New Vulcan? 



Author's Response:

Based on the backstory/interactions in the new iteration of Star Trek it seems likely that Spock has some ongoing conflctc with his father, and perhaps within himself too regarding 'fitting in' to Vulcan society. It takes him a while to figure out how to balance that part of life.
