Only Eshan and Joss can turn a mundane activity like grocery shopping into something, cute, hot and sexy. Loved how affectionate they are with one another and especially in public.
I cackled like crazy because Aunt Dora-Mae is off the chain! Unfortunately I don't have any aunts like her in my family, but I guess I should feel fortunate, but she definitely doesn't mince words or use a filter, but it makes her all the more real. But it was really good to see the families blending in together and that Joss could be herself and not have to worry about inadvertently offending anyone. It had to be a relief even if she were a little worried about Eshan's sisters taking offense to Aunt Dora-Mae's racy comments.
And I may have gotten choked up at the end when Miss Pearl started crying and then said she could give her baby away because of the man she's giving her to...just give me a moment. I'll be all right. Loved this chapter like I've loved ALL your chapters. Can't wait for the next installment!

I love the way the families seem to be bonding, even though I really felt for Joss when her aunt was going on and on about Eshan and what she would do to him. So glad her sisters-in-law to be were not offended! Now if we could just get the evil dragon-lady on board, all will be well.

Okay, I'm back in. Let's get this wedding on a roll! I was fully prepared to continue to give Eshan the side and stink eye, with my arms folded and lips twisted, but he has won me back over. I'm glad he explained the situation concerning his ex-almost-fiance, and I even feel a tiny bit bad for her. Considering the culture they're apart of it can't be easy for her knowing that everyone knows she was rejected, and that her prospects of getting married have become even more dire. Poor thing.
Should Eshan have had the conversation at his engagement party...well yes and no. I say both because his mom invited her so that put the both of them on the spot which was just wrong no matter the angle you look at it from. And hey, why not kill two birds with one stone by just going ahead and trying to make things right, I'm sure may have been Eshan's train of thought. Explain himself and make amends. But at the same time, he should have told Joss first so it wouldn't appear that he was being consoled by his ex-almost-intended. Appearances are just as important as the words people speak, so if anyone else had caught them huddled intimiately together, what would have happened then?

And I'm glad that Joss and Eshan clarified about their stances on their religious differences and how her being Christian isn't a disappointment to him, and that he loves her no matter what. Can the man be anymore perfect or understanding?

JJ, you have done it again; I am thoroughly in awe of your writing skills...I can totally picture myself in the scenes you detail, as your writing is that vivid.
I really feel for Joss; Eshan is a good man, but it is really hard to merge cultures sometimes, especially when one of the main people you need to be on your side despises you. I'm glad that at least Joss' father-in-law to be likes her.
I really didn't like Pearl in B&B, but she is kinda growing on me; mainly because she is a momma-bear and I can totally relate to that:)
Looking forward to finding out what happens next...hope they make it through the night with Eshan's virtue intact:)

Okay, I am not as heated as I was last chapter and more so because of the ending. I still don't think meeting with her at the engagement party was appropriate. He could have explained to Joss the situation and spoke with the young lady at her parents home with her mom or close friend present. You CAN follow the rules and absolve your guilt at the same time. In that specific scenario this is a very rare incidence of Eshan thinking about himself and the fact she confronted him on it I think really made him go home and re-evaluate those actions. I love her mom and how she was unable to put anything past her. She was ready to whoop everybody's behind until she found who hurt her child. Love momma bear. It was nice to see them communicating about their difference with religion and building a foundation of how to proceed in the future. This will be what makes their marriage strong. Don't trust his mother or shady brother at all and if I was Joss I would keep well away from them or never go anywhere without my handy, dandy mace or pepper spray. I wonder if Nafeesa and these other women truly going to leave Eshan alone or will his mother continue to fan the flames.

Oh how I love this story. Eshan did the right thing by talking to the ex but I completely understand why Joss would be upset. His mother is dreadful and I don't trust his brother at all. I adore her mother she is a ride or die chick. I really appreciate your descriptions it paints such a clear picture. Great job.

I read some of the reviews and I think you guys are being too hard on Eshan. Being the gentleman he is, he probably felt obligated to speak with the usurped finance to try and explain; "It wasn't you, it was me."
I don't think he's angry with Joss, I think he's sick of people interfering. Give "Eesh" the benefit of the doubt. Have ye such little faith?

As happy as I am about there being together, I feel Joss' lonliness. It would be so difficult to be in her shoes. I love this story so much, because it IS so REAL. You feel their love, Joss' insecurity, and the anticipation and hope for their love.
