Summary:

Former high school sweethearts Shawn Hunter and Angela Moore are in their junior year at the prestigious Penbrook College.  The previous semester they broke up when Shawn decided that he wanted to meet “new people”.  Not long after the painful break up, he realizes his mistake but stubbornly refuses to try to win Angela back for reasons he can’t even explain to himself. 

Then Angela begins dating a new guy, one who is everything Shawn isn’t: well-to-do, family oriented and black.  As the two grow closer, Shawn finally realizes that he’s risking losing Angela forever by not telling her how he feels.  While struggling internally with himself and his demons, his wastrel father makes a fateful visit that forces Shawn's latent fear of abandonment to surface.  Is this what’s been immobilizing him from moving forward with Angela?  If so, can they still overcome the consequences of their failed relationship or is it too late?

Summary:
