Title: Aftermath

You’re not sure if it’s real or that you’d care if it wasn’t. This could all be a dream, the world ending. You and him at the end of time, this simplistic fantasy, this need for each other, this fucked up Adam and Eve in reverse.

~*~

It makes her silent, sad. She pities you and your insignificant existence, your tiny little pre-apocalyptic life, already small, but getting smaller when seen through her eyes or the unfortunate luxury of your hindsight. This life is accidental, a cosmic mistake. It wasn’t supposed to happen.

It’s more than you’ve ever had.

You say, "I belong to you," because he said it first. And because you think it might be true.

This was so lovely :) But all of your stuff is anyway. I remember watching this film, but like years later (because I don't do horror flicks; esp. zombie flicks). I remember thinking how awesome Cillian and Naomie were together; how bleak the present was. I mean BLEAK. Maybe that's why I don't like those flicks...but the movie did such a great job of portraying the what-ifs and what-nexts. I mean, survival is fucking BLEAK but our ancestors did it years ago when everyday was a struggle for survival, every winter a war, every summer a brief reprieve, but shiiit BLEAK as ever. But that's me looking from the vantage pt. of a cushiony-life. I like your playlist title: Apocalypse Please...inDEED! Bring it! Let's get this party started, get it over with and hopefully get back to being civilized? Yes? No? Maybe?

Great job. I love these little pieces you do. :) Awesomery work, Token. As always. *bows* :)

Jim & Selena! Is it weird that I like how uncertain they are?

This is from a movie? God I need to come back to the states. I liked it...as always. Now I'm wondering how close you stuck to the movie and how I need to go to my online movie site and see if I can't find it.

The second person put a nice twist to it. Thanks for sharing!

Title: Aftermath

Oh God that was so beautiful. I'm grasping at what to say, because I'm just feeling the fic right now. I heart Jim's characterization because he is a bit of a pathetic tosser, isn't he? He's put forth as the everyman but today's everyman is sort of a half-grown loser that won't grow up unless there is an apocalypse. The life he has with Selena is better than the one he had before.

Selena sees herself as a strong independent woman, but you showed that there's more to her. In the situation they're in it makes sense that she would hold on to that identity and Jim slowly makes her realize that she can be two things at once, even a the end of the world.

Again, this was so awesome!

I really liked the movie, but I absolutely loved your fic! I do hope you write a longer story for these two - I would love to read it ... but then again, I love everything you write!

Fantastic work!

Nice.  I liked 28 days later.  Fantastic movie.  Very much British, but still fascinating.  Will you writing anymore....longer this time?

Nyeesha

Author's Response: Thank you! I loved that movie too. I do want to write a longer fic for these characters, I was kinda testing the waters with this one, see how it went. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. :)
