Author's Chapter Notes:
I've been watching a lot of vampire shows and reading some vamp books lately, and it inspired me to write this poem. I'm going to write a story about it eventually, but I'm posting the poem now.

The Black ©

It’s always the same

The bitter, the cold

It started out as a game

Like me, it’s getting old

He’s the bitter drug

I loathe to crave

Eyes so full of love

Staring up from the grave

To you, on my knees I’d crawl

Capturing my soul, my fading light

You could have had it all

But with the Black you had to fight

No ocean too deep

The fastest I could run

A century without sleep

And it still ever comes

Your heart was my anchor

The last link to what I was

You pulsed with my succor

I’m always in the Black’s claws

Justice, she mocks me

To face the sun and the pain

But the Black moves my feet

And I start over again

Chapter End Notes:
The story will be about a female vampire that's very old. But that's all I'll say for now as it's still formulating =)
