All the Way to Vulcan

Eve Brody was browsing through her com-link in her quarters on her downtime when she came across the news feed from Earth and saw the report on Nyota and Spock. She listened and watched Kim Kelly gave her report on the marriage and the upcoming reception. Then the news feed switched to the wedding media and the vid-pic of Nyota's wedding. The comment about the wedding dress stuck out-they wanted to know who she was. Eve jumped up from her desk holding her chest.

"Oh my GOD! They love my dress, they love my dress!"

Eve did a victory dance in her room.

"I've got to share the joy" Eve grabbed her Padd and downloaded the news and sighed again; "They loved my dress!"

Then she hit the inter-room com. "Charlene! Charlene, are you there?"

"Yes, why are you shouting?"

"Can I come see you? I have some news to share!"

"Sure, come on down!"

"Think you can get Nyota to come too?",asked Eve.

Charlene laughed. "I'll try, but don't forget she's a married woman now!"

Eve closed the intercom and grabbed her downloaded Padd and headed out the door.

When Charlene opened the door to let Eve in, she grabbed her into a hug.

"I'm so excited, Char. Someone loves my dresses!"

"What?!"

"Yeah. Spock and Uhura's wedding vid is posted on Earth's media. It's crazy! On Earth, they are having a fit that they are married and some are down with it!"

"Wow, I don't believe it."

Eve led Charlene to her bed and sat, posted up the news flash from WEN and Kim Kelly reprised her announcement. Plus vids of Nyota's mother being bombarded at her job and the Vulcan Embassy.

"Wow, Nyota's mom looks just like her. She's beautiful!"

Char added, "Yeah, it seems those genes run in their family. She's like a second mom to me. When Nyota and I were in the last year at the academy. I stayed with her. It was like... it was nurturing."

"That's nice, huh?"

Charlene nodded her head.

Then they saw "Forever Love Wedding" news which broadcasted Saana Uhura's announcement. Charlene saw herself in the group vid. But then became mad when she saw Mrs. Uhura being harassed.

"Those a$$holes, why did they do that to my second mom!" Charlene hitting her fist in her palm.

Eve also added, "I know, that was awful! Why would they harass that poor lady?"

"Right! People are so ignorant about them!"

Then Charlene's chimer buzzed and she jumped up to answer.

"Hi, Char, what's up?"

Charlene pulled on Nyota's arm and dragged her to where Eve was sitting. Eve held up her Padd. Charlene with her hands on her hip and pointed to the news flash.

"Have you seen this? It's about your mom being bombarded by those news goons!"

"I haven't seen it, but my mother told me about how they harassed her!"

Charlene spat, "If I ever meet this Kim Kelly. she started it, I'll kick her a$$ for harassing my second mom!"

"Me too!" chimed Eve.

"Why thank you besties, but my mother wrote the article for "Everlasting Love" media and they helped to rebuff those horrible stories people are saying."

Char looked at Nyota. "You spoke to your mom?"

Nyota nodded her head. "She needed our permission to use the wedding vids to post in their media. Spock and I said okay."

Eve commented, "So that's how they found out about my, well your wedding dress. They want to meet me."

"How is your mom? Is she okay at the Vulcan Embassy," asked Charlene.

"Yes, she should be on Vulcan right now according to her last message."

"Wow, I'm glad she doesn't have to deal with THAT Earth's nonsense, the poor woman!"

Eve had an idea, if there is media coverage at the reception maybe she can showcase her work.

"Hey, Nyota, I do have some dresses for your selection, plus I can have something for your mom for the reception."

"WHAT! Really? I bet my mom would like that."

"When we get closer, either you can select or she can."

Charlene folded her arms. "Why, Eve, how clever, this way you showcase your work and get clients."

Eve winked at Char. "Yes, Nyota and her mom will be my living models and my other career will launch!"

Nyota looked at the two of them and burst out laughing; "Sounds like a plan, count me in. I'll be honored to model your latest fashion."

The women gathered at Eve's monitor and she revealed a large selection of clothes that she can make for the upcoming reception. Eve felt excited that she will finally receive recognition for her hard work.

Spock went into his closet and pulled down the boxes that he had stored. He carefully placed them on their bed and gently opened one and slowly lifted the garment. He inspected the material and the embroidery to his satisfaction. He specially ordered the family clan robe for his wife, a gift. He carefully folded back into position and covered it. The ensemble came with soft-covered shoes and hair accessories. Spock was proud that Nyota had become a part of his life, his inner man basking in the relationship. He heard the door swish open and her aroma played in the air 'my wife'.

"Spock, darling, are you here?"

Spock stepped out behind the bedroom alcove to reveal himself with his deep, rich voice. "Ashayam."

Nyota smiled at him;. "What are you up to?"

Spock extended his hand to her and she stepped into him and hugged his waist.

"I have information for you to explain."

Spock led his wife to her chaise where they sat together. "Ashayam, there will be some who will challenge our marriage. They will either speak with objections or acceptance, it is my responsibility to protect what is mine. I value you above all others Nyota."

Nyota gave a worried look. "What is it?"

"If you have noticed, our bonding has grown and expanded beyond my comprehension. So far it is not a threat to our health, just more awareness. Have you sensed this?"

"Yes, I thought due to the fact I have never been bonded before."

"There might be some will attempt to dissolve our marriage."

Nyota stood up in anger; "Over my dead body, not what I've been through. Who are these people who seek to break us up?"

"Unknown at this time, if my telepathy has increased they will seek out its source. Therefore, there are options that our stay on Vulcan will be limited. A healer will verify your health that our bonding does not hinder your life. Once that is clarified, then instantly, our matriarch T'Pau will quickly perform a marriage bond to authenticate our bond for the records. Then that will conclude any form of interference."

Nyota sat back down slowly. "Because you're half-human, and your telepathy range is above average. They wondered how that could be, but if you breed with another human female they fear that our offspring will be weakened."

"That is blunt but correct. T'Pau will not let that occur."

"Spock, what do you want me to do?"

"You have already done so thus far, you became my wife of my choice. I am honored."

Spock leaned in to touch foreheads, and his fingers caressing her cheek, his heart had grown. They stayed like that for a few minutes and then he stood up. "I have something to present to you."

He went to retrieve the boxes from the alcove and presented them to Nyota, she stood up and looked inside the large one first. She pulled out a long deep blue with silver threads woven, with a light blue tunic on the inside. It was perfectly creased on the folds, it was gorgeous.

"Oh Spock, it's beautiful, for me?"

"Yes, you are a member of the Schn'T'Gai Clan, a descendant of Surak the Father of our Logic."

Nyota quickly undressed to put on the robe/tunic, Spock presented the matching shoes and hair accessories. The outfit fit snug around the upper abdomen and loose at the waist where it flared out. The tunic was like a knee-length dress, but the robe covered her legs entirely. Nyota twirled around it with a big smile, her hand ran up and down the family name on the left side and she examined the embroidery that shimmered in the light.

"Oh, Spock! It's beautiful and nicely fit too."

Spock bowed his head in agreement. He was content that his wife was pleased with the gift.

"I will represent our family, Spock, with pride and I am honored, do you wish for me to wear it on the day of our arrival?"

"Yes, there is a probability a delegation will be there to receive us since we are the honored guests."

She extended her fingers toward him and he accepted, she felt Spock's emotions flood her thoughts of belonging and joy. Her Vulcan was actually happy.

Nyota started to undress her new family robe gently and Spock took it and placed it in their closet to hang as well as the shoes. She placed her new accessories in a specialty drawer and turned to look at Spock. Now she was just in her yellow lace bra and panties, a contrast against her cocoa brown curvy body. A sweet smile formed on her face as she watched Spock morph into his caveman's eyes. He knew that look and proceeded to lift his shirt off and toeing his boots at the same time. This time when he made love to her, his scent and mark will be made again. He's going home, his wife was a prize to any male regardless. Nyota had possessed him in this relationship. He took care of his feelings against Sam Boma, he could pine over her from afar, but he had not been in her presence again. "MINE" as he deeply kissed, caressing her body, Spock made sure his fire burst through their bond.

After their intense lovemaking, Spock propped himself against the headboard with Nyota cradled up against his bare chest. Their hands intertwined, his head buried in the crevice of her neck as he made his purring sound of satisfaction. In their heat of passion Spock marked on her shoulder blade, which drove her into sexual frenzy and him into a possessive state. The thought of someone to take Nyota from him put his mind in overdrive.

"The mark is a reminder that you are taken, even in challenges. A challenge to Vulcan males is estimated 97.9% chances of becoming combative. Such events have been curbed or nonexistent, only through the Kal-i-fee. Logic has prevailed as such, until my Kal-i-farr."

Nyota pressed deeper into his chest and tightened her grip on his hands; she knew Spock's Kal-i-farr was combative. The ancient drive of his culture ripped his logic away and almost killed his best friend. "Yes, your best friend."

"This...this mark is from the old ways, it lingers in our blood, it's automatic and can not be tamed. What is ours remains ours, to each other."

Spock opened their bond and ancient history flooded the bond so that Nyota could actually see Vulcan history through Spock's thoughts like a stream flowing. After a while of history, it faded and a glow formed around them.

"Ashayam, Earth has such a history that continues to be written. There is a book called the Bible of religious beliefs. There is a story of a woman who married a priest that led a group of people out of slavery. I think his name was Moses. He met someone outside their culture and they married, they became one. She adopted his belief and stated; "your people are my people." So, my husband, despite our differences, your people will be my people whether they accept me or not."

Spock always knew he had chosen well, Nyota Uhura was that missing piece in his life. Infinite Combinations started with his father marrying his mother and now it continued with him and Nyota. The future continued.

The Enterprise is 36 hours from Vulcan and in range for stronger communication between ships and the planet. The ship is excited for Mr. Spock and Lt. Uhura for their upcoming wedding reception. Many wish they could attend, they had heard from the Earth News Media that it's the biggest gala in the universe. But Spock and Nyota took it in stride, they continued with their duties and demeanor. Kirk tried to release them from duty, but both decided it was best to maintain the required duty shift and not focus on their so-called royal status. They both continue their Sus Maha and Spock noticed the seriousness of his wife's determination to accomplish each phase of art. He purposely avoided bruises to her body, it was time to address the issue.

The counseling sessions for Christine have improved and not let the mellow drama affect her progress in her recovery. LaToya took note of her growth. Christine took advantage of the smooth relaxing swimming that had a calming effect on her mind. It was beginning to heal her once-broken heart. Christine was regaining her confidence and personality, the good nurse. She took a chance and entered the morning breakfast group like she used to. But things were a lot different, she saw the whole bridge crew sitting at one long table. It looked like the captain was holding court, Kirk made eye contact with her and waved her over to join them. He made space next to him, and Chekov and Scotty moved over for her.

Kirk gave his best smile and greeted her; "Well, Good morning Nurse Chapel"

Everyone at the table acknowledged her including Spock and Nyota, Christine took her seat next to the captain and he turned and engaged in conversation with her. While everyone else continued to talk shop and laugh, Spock who was always mindful of time announced;

"Captain it is estimated that our duty will commence in 15.4 minutes."

Scotty chimed in; "Like we going on active duty to where? This slow milk run is making my engines sleep."

The crew laughed.

Sulu added; "We're going so slow that I have the helm on automatic, and I took up another way to add to my collection of swords."

"Oh No, not the swords again" the crew whined and then laughed.

Kirk took the opportunity to ask a private question amidst the bantering.

"Are you doing better Christine?"

"Yes, Sir much better."

"That's good to hear, everyone missed you, and I would like to see you continue with your outstanding performance."

Kirk gave his winning smile and to see that her demeanor is better and that she looked healthier too.

"Thank you, captain."

Christine gave him a return smile and started to listen to the crew's banter while she ate. She was able to look at everyone at the table and observe them including Nyota and Spock. It didn't hurt as much, but to see them was a part of reality.

Even McCoy was happy to see his head nurse join the bridge crew and slowly watched her partake in the bantering conversation. He even saw a smile across her face when someone told a joke, maybe he did the right thing.

A little while later, Spock and Nyota were heading down to sickbay as scheduled. McCoy wanted to do a check-up and insert the implant for Nyota for Vulcan. He remembered clearly the thin, hot atmosphere of Vulcan, and he wanted Nyota's body to adjust beforehand before she left.

Nurse Running Deer met both of them at the door;

"Good afternoon Commander and Lieutenant, Dr. McCoy will be with you in a moment."

"Hi Running Deer"

Spock was curious about the nurse's name, in his culture people were named for the occupation or activities. It was similar to the nurse. Nyota had explained that Native Americans named their children by certain characteristics, one name in particular she met a man named "Smiles a-lot" as a child he smiled a lot for no reason, or in fact, he was cared for. But mostly named after animals that were symbolic of strength or demeanor. I found it interesting that it aligns with ancient Vulcan culture as well.

"Ms. Uhura, I'm so excited for you, I've never been to Vulcan, and I've heard that their medical science department is top-notch!"

Spock answered, "Vulcan is known for their medical facilities that expand on knowledge for cures."

Running Deer said excitedly; "Oh how I would love to spend a day or a week at one of their facilities!"

"Depending on the schedule of the Enterprise, and with permission from the Vulcan Science Academy, a tour could be arranged for you nurse Running Deer."

"Mr. Spock, I would be honored and thank you!"

"Thanks is not necessary, it is your desire to expand your knowledge. Nurse, you may proceed with the examination."

"OH um-sorry!"

Uhura chuckled at Spock's so-called social conversation.

Running Deer with her Padd in hand asked for updates but one made Spock unease;

"Have you changed or continued birth control?"

Nyota noticed the hitch in Spock's breathing, and the shifting of his stance. He was uncomfortable about the discussion.

"I am on the same medication for birth control."

While she held up her two fingers for him.

"Be at peace, we have not completely discussed when we should start a family. We have options."

"Indeed, I will investigate the regulations within Starfleet and Vulcan."

Spock stood like a statue and his head held high during the questioning.

Running Deer went to the biobed and tilted down and asked Uhura to step onto it. Spock assisted her and gently tilted the bed back until the medical panel lid up and started registering her vitals. Running Deer quickly input information into her Padd, at that moment McCoy exited his office.

"Well, isn't it our famous couple?"

McCoy saw Spock on one side of the biobed with one hand behind his back and the other on the biobed near Nyota's shoulder.

"Dr. McCoy all of Lt. Uhura's vitals are normal, a slight increase in muscle mass."

McCoy took the Padd from Running Deer and double-checked her work.

"Well Nyota, have you been exercising extra lately?"

"Yes Doctor, Spock is teaching some new techniques."

"There are some bruises that are healing, they are a couple of weeks old. Spock, are you beating up our girl?"

"As you are aware, Doctor, any form of physical contact always leads to some form of irritation to the muscle tissue."

Nyota giggled, Nurse Running Deer is shocked, and McCoy gives Spock a sneered look and arched brow. Turning back to Nyota;

"Well, take it easy with those so-called 'new techniques' Spock! You don't want your new wife black and blue before she arrives."

Again Spock is alerted about the strenuous of their routine, why is Nyota so set on learning certain techniques?

"Doctor, by your advice we will curtail our training activities."

Nyota protested; "But Dr. McCoy I want to learn more about the Vulcan technique!"

Bones folded his arms and looked at her sternly; "Why?"

Even Spock wanted to know.

"It's just about knowledge ...and culture!"

"Well, for now, you need to stop and you're going to meet your new in-laws, and if I'm correct your mother is there on Vulcan already."

"Yes she is, I hope she is having a good time." Looking up at Spock.

Spock looked up with his arched brow and answered.

"Your mother would find that Vulcan is a planet of logical people, it is not a planet as you say for pleasure or entertainment."

McCoy mumbled; "You can say that again."

Spock gave him both lifted eyebrows.

Hushed giggles from the women. McCoy directed Running Deer for the hypospray.

"Doctor you were there, what was one highlight about Vulcan? Asked Nyota.

"Now why did you ask me that? I wasn't there long enough to take in the site. I was there for another reason and it wasn't a pleasant experience."

"McCoy is referring to my Kal-i-Farr."

"Oh, I see. Well, McCoy then you're due for another visit!"

McCoy gave Nyota a scowling look like the grim reaper was next to him.

"I really don't need another experience on Vulcan, I've seen enough. Nurse!"

Becoming irritated at the thought of T' Pau's wrath. Running Deer appeared next to him with the hypo on a tray, McCoy picked it up to examine the dosage.

"Nyota this implant has side effects, it will cause sleepiness for about 20-30 minutes. So I want you to rest on the other biobed." Looking up at Spock and he could tell Spock was worried about her. "You can stay if you like Spock."

"That is my intention, Doctor."

Running Deer tilted the biobed down to vertical level and McCoy ministered the implant in her upper arm. Spock and Running Deer escorted Nyota to the sickbay beds and gently laid her down.

"I'll be back in 25 minutes to check up on you, so take it easy and just rest." McCoy and Running Deer left and the couple was alone.

Nyota looked at her husband as he sat beside her on the bed and smiled at her man. She held up two fingers and he touched her and their bond glowed a bright orange of love. Then a few minutes later, the orange started to fade as Nyota fell into a deep sleep from the implant.

Spock laid her hand on her lap and watched his wife sleep and monitor their bond that quieted. He continued to stare at his wife of 4.3 months and felt pleased. He will be home soon to face some challenges; one is his father. Will their relationship continue to mend? He desires so, Spock missed those father/son events that they both once engaged in. Their trek in the forge for his training and the chess challenges. But mostly the cultural instructions that made him who is today. It started when he introduced Nyota to his parents, and the communication has since improved.

The 2nd concern is his grandmother T'Pau who he hasn't seen since his Kal-i-Farr. She agreed to the divorce from T'Pring. But will she agree to the bonding with Nyota? Another human female in the family mix. He had not sought her advice on his marriage or consent.

Then there are his psi powers that continue to increase as he ages. Now that Nyota shares those connections they have a different effect on them both. Who can he trust? Then there's the toll on his telepathy. He is less than 28 hours away from home. 'I must hold until the designated time.' Then he felt their bond beginning to glow again, she was becoming conscious. He touched her cheek, and her eyes fluttered open into his dark warm sharp eyes and formed a smile.

Just at that moment, McCoy returned to check up on her;

"I see that you are awake Mrs. Spock, how do you feel?"

"Good" as she yawned and stretched her arms; "The little nap did me good!"

"Well my job is done, Mrs. Spock I hope your visit to Vulcan was much better than mine."

"I will see you at our reception right McCoy?"

"Wouldn't miss it for anything, you two deserve this. I still can't believe Spock that you are the descendant of Surak. So many secrets!"

"No secret Doctor, just not mentioned."

Spock gently helped Nyota off the bed and waited until she was able to stand on her own. With his hand on her elbow escorted her out of Sickbay.

McCoy stared at them as they left and was amazed at how much Spock had changed.

"I know this marriage is so much better than the one I saw on Vulcan. Much quieter and less bloody fighting."
