I'm not trying to give Jared a hard time. Really, I'm not. Its just that the whole woe-is-me line from him doesn't quite ring true for me. They all had it bad! Just how much fun does he think Charlie was having while working, cleaning, cooking, and looking after his three younger brothers? Starting at fourteen no less! Or even Val, working herself practically to death. Does he think that his brothers didn't miss their father as well? He admitted that Charlie was in over head, so why didn't he ever pitch in to help where he could? Help ease the burden some. He wasn't some damn outcast, nor was he special in what he felt. Jared chose to act a fool, so this song and dance about how nobody undertands me is bulls**t! He had a brother who was right in there with him to talk to. He would have understood because he was going through the same thing. They could have been the best of friends, and each other's confidants; if Jared had let them. Seriously, how much time does he think Val was sparing the other boys? None. What exactly was happening with the rest of the family why he was feeling so alone and neglected by everyone? What little she did have, be it things or otherwise, it all went to him. Did he ever notice that? Or even care? Honestly, he and Valerie both abandoned Charlie in the whole situation. Val had to keep the roof over their heads, yeah, but they both left Charlie to do the rest. He had no help from anyone, and he finished high school to boot! So, I'm sorry, but all that mess he was talking to Lucinda about didn't move me much. Charlie didn't have the luxury of wallowing and whining like he did. Charlie had to say goodbye to his teenage years before they'd even really begun and get busy.

Lucinda needed to tell Jared that and good for her! She's nobody's fool and I'm so glad about that. For a minute there I thought she was going to let him pull that stunt. I mean, really, when did a week of hiding out and doing him that favor turn into roomies? The fool didn't even ask her to find out if that's what she wanted, just tried to slide right on in! It's only her house! Is he for real? Everthing she said to him was dead on the money! He really was going to try and get away with that crap if she let him. Glad she told him about himself, because yeah, he was getting out of control. She's like Charlie in that she had to pull it together and do what she had to do in life. Jared would do well to listen and learn from Lucinda and Charlie; Val as well. Let's hope he does and gets it together!

Charlie Sr. I knew that was going to be his next plan; the twins. I was hoping Jared would either call or come by to warn them before that happened. So glad the twins are safe! Her husband is scum and now I think Val can stop grieving his loss and move on with her life. She can start with finally divorcing him. I think she never did that because she hoped he would come back. No one can blame her for that; perfectly natural given they have a family together. But I hope this might have put things into perspective for her.

Glad Jared moved out. Glad he's taking things more seriously.

Where to begin with this. The psychological value alone is worth the read.

First, the family dynamic. Charlie: I already love him and I absolutely believe has borne the brunt of not only being the junior, but also, looking like his namesame! To me, that is the only explanation for her treatment of her son. To make him somehow pick up where his father, her husband, left off. Also, in a way, blaming him for looking like the man that deserted his family. She's been grossly unfair to him for something he couldn't help, and didn't do. It's like she's completely forgotten that he was a kid, too. And her favoritism towards Jared inversely, is because he reminds her of her father. This woman is a little confused. She didn't do the fool any favors as far as life is concerned. It's made him irresponsible and useless. And she's helped to create an unnecessary situation between the boys. The kicker is that he has no allegiance to her for any of it. He said if it were him, he would have left them all high and dry as soon as he was able. Their mother has no use for any of them, except for his sorry ass, and this is how he feels? Some gratitude.

Jared: He make me want to smack the snot out of him! Pretending like he doesn't realize what the hell happened in his family. Talking that stupid mess about Charlie "liking cooking and cleaning" and "choosing" to help his family, denying himself a life of his own, and what a fool he was for doing so. And laughing at him for it. It was a labor of love. Selfish prick! Thank goodness Charlie did, or his ass would have been in foster care, or jail! Maybe he should have been talking more to his mother, in front of Charlie, about how Charlie wasn't his father, so therefore, he couldn't tell him what to do. Reinforce it to their mother that he was not her husband and see what that would have gotten all three of them. And while they're at it, ask her to explain why she has ignored her youngest two sons, thereby, making them Charlie's complete responsibility. So all this animosity from him towards Charlie and baiting him, while witnessing all the responsibility that was heaped onto him over the years, makes no sense at all. He's only tried to help.

As far as I'm concerned, as soon as the twins hit eighteen and college, Charlie should make tracks! Go build his own life. Have a place for the twins to come home to, since its never been with their mother anyway, and leave Valerie to her precious baby Jared. She makes enough I'm sure, to just give him if she wants. While Charlie is still there, he can pull this crap. I mean, the fool is over there for his cooking and talking s**t while doing so. What nerve! Charlie should have squeezed until his eyes popped out! Isn't he all grown and living with a woman, and he's over there for food? For all his talk, I think he might be afraid of Charlie. Look at how he got bitch-slapped and didn't retaliate whatsoever. Charlie could taunt him about being a momma's boy, and having her fight his battles, but he doesn't. Ughh!!

Inga: I hope she's serious, and not seeing this as some kind of game/challenge about getting to the virgin hunk first just because. It could mean something in the end and Charlie isn't used to games like that.
