Title: Chapter 21 Road to Recovery

I understand that Seleah did not want her personal life revealed in front of the church but it affected Amaris also. And I also believed that Amaris got caught up in her grief and just blurted it out. Seleah has kept the pain a secret longer.

Author's Response:

Seleah thought that she could handle it because she's been handling it for a very long time.  She doesn't realize that her holding it in has affected her relationship with Amaris and everyone else she's in a relationship with.  She will seek the help she needs...

More to come soon. Thanks for the review!

Title: Chapter 21 Road to Recovery

Thanks for a great update.  A lot of surprises in this chapter.  I was stunned that Joseph could sing.  I can understand why Seleah was so upset about what happened at Church.  Hopefully she will get into therapy to deal with the child molestation that left her pregnant at the age of 12.  I hope that Preacher is rotting in hell.  As for Damaris. yeah he talked with Tameka about what has been going on.  She gave him sage advice lets hope that he listened to her.  I was LOL when he said that she was supposed to wait for him to grow up so that they could get married.  That was so cute.

The other shocker was Amaris father, Amar coming to see her while he is in the states.  I can't wait to read about the first meeting between daughter and father.

Oh yeah, glad to read that Daniel is back on his feet and is at work.  I hope that this means that he has a full recovery.

Thanks for a great update.

Author's Response:

You know Dem has had a mad crush on Tam ever since he was a young boy and Tam and Amaris were in college.  LOL.  Seleah will get the help she needs.  Yes Daniel is back at work full time.   Thanks for the review.  More to come soon!

Ah! It just keeps getting better and better.  Seleah needed that healing spirit. Dem needed that talking to and it seems our girl Tam was the one able to get through to him.

And the biggest surprise is Amar coming to visit his child for the first time.

Wonderful just wonderful update as always.

Thank you for sharing.

Happy writing.

What more can I add (sniffing whilst wiping tears and looking at colleagues who are wonderin why the heck I'm cryin lol).. there's so much hurt in the world and for those of us priviledged to read amazing words written on this site it comes home to roost that we're not alone.

Thanx Brenda1257 for your gift of the written word by creating characters like the Seleahs & Joes, the Amaris' & Julians and all the craziness of family & friends - we are not ALONE...

Title: Chapter 21 Road to Recovery

Wow, Joseph actually got Seleah to go to church and she went down for altar prayer!!!  Dem bless his little heart he is still so hurt and confused.  I am so glad that he went to see Tam who set the young straight.  Yes, they your momma lied to you about Gerald being your father.  But in every since of the  word he was and is your father.    Your mom was raped as a child and that trumps your being lied to, she gave you love and made sure  that you were surrounded by love.  She gave you to Amaris, so that when she let the circumstances of your birth got to her, you still received love.

Dem let them back into your life, they love you. To top it off you brought Amaris' father back into the picture. Lord this story just gets better with each Chapter.  You rock!!!!

Author's Response:

Dem just needed to talk out his feelings, so who better than Aunt Tam to be a sounding board.

I think he will heed Tam's advice and make up with his family.

Title: Chapter 21 Road to Recovery

Another great update!

I believe that Seleah experience an cleansing of her spirit and that was the first step to her recovery and regaining control of her life back. I love Joseph, he's a good dude with a  good heart. I think he knows that their relationship will a tough hill to climb, but he's determined to see it to the end.

Dem has to go thru his own cleansing as well and realize that his mother was the victim and she did the best she could at the time. She was just a baby herself. I can't wait to see Amaris reaction to meeting her father. Loved it always!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review.  Child abuse is so damaging to not only the child, but all those in relationship with the victim, but I know that God is a healer and the potter can put you back together again....

More is coming...

Title: Chapter 20 Rebuilding After The Storm

Poor Amaris...I hope she doesn't keep torturing herself about the possibility of what Walker might have done to her...maybe that lost memory will be a blessing in disguise and she was forced like Leah to relive those awful memories everyday...though the not knowing could have its own set of pitfalls...and I don't want that to affect her relationship with Julian...hope she realizes that Jules loves her simply for being her...and nothing she learns will ever change that simple fact...

Now you know I have a soft spot for Leah...strange huh...but I'm now her biggest champion...and she deserves the kind of love that Joe has in store for her...she just needs to learn to have a bit of patience...but I totally understand her eagerness for affection because for so long she's thought of herself as totally worthless...Joe is good for her soul and her self-esteem...but Leah baby...let the man do right by you...let him show you that there's more to intimacy than mere physical attraction and sex...he's slowly showing her that what that monster took from her did not devalue her as a person deserving of love...that yes, she Seleah is totally deserving of giving and receiving love the right way...poor thing...after thirty-two years and three children...the poor woman had never experienced a real orgasm...Leah's like a kid locked in a candy shop...she's tasted the taffy...and now she wants more and more...patience my dear...it will be well worth the wait...

Now Gerald Jackson is what I call a real man...one who knows that fatherhood is more than simple biology...he took responsibility for a child he knew was no way possibly his own flesh and blood and loved him because he is a real man...and I loved that he wouldn't allow Dem to disrespect him or his feelings for him because Dem is hurt...Dem will come around...and he'll realize that Gerald is his father in all the ways that truly matter...

Gosh, I can't wait for more...I hope the wedding will be a smashing success!!!!

My hats off to Gerald. I think he's truly one of a kind to parent a child he did not father. He doesn't get enough credit. I wish there was more written of him.

I also love he did not allow Demaris to disrespect him enough though he was hurt.

I hope he forgive his mom one day because the hardest thing for someone to say out loud that they were abuse at a very young age trust me I know. great update and thank for the update.

Title: Chapter 20 Rebuilding After The Storm

My my my! Imagine the surprise I received when I saw this lovely update.  And here I was prepared to be patient and wait and think that I wouldn't get one until this weekend or next week with all the stuff going on for you this week Ms. B.

It was a delight and pleasure as always.  I am happy to see that Leah got her first of many to come orgasms with her husband to be.  Now if only she could be patient and not think with that tic for tac mentality she will be good.  Joe is trying so hard to do right by her and God and she is making it hard on the man.  He is only man and can take so much temptation before he caves you see what happened after her begging the flesh is week.  It is good they will all be going to chruch she need to reclaim her spiritual and intimate bond again with God and her faith...unknowingly she let that monster take that away from her to so not only physically defiled her but mentally and emotionally as well.

Amaris now feels that she was also defiled and that may not be the cause.  She could have broken her hyman a number of ways and not know it that may be the reason she did not hurt or bleed when she used the vibrator for the first time but she does along with all the rest need to seek couselling to rest her mind.

Dem is hurting right now and lashing out...but like his DAD said he needs not turn on the ones that are there and love him.  Yes, it's going to be hard getting to know who he is and his family on that monsters side but I feel he is a strong kid along with a strong family and again this is where the couselling will have to come in to help cope and get over this tribulation.

As always thank you for sharing and I see that you have what I have not doubt another goodie in store for us in the way of "In The Eyes of the Beholder" which I am off to read now.

Happy writing.

Seleah is thinking and that is a good thing.  I love the way Joseph with each interaction gives Seleah more food for the thought.  Joseph is a good egg, with each chapter I like him more and more.    I am starting to like Seleah a little bit more, but I just wish that she would quit pushing Joseph.  She needs therapy, as a matter Amaris does as well.  So awesome, even though it was short.  Enjoy your son's wedding, Brenda.
