Her dad and him are good friends, and she is going by a different name. Blake must have been someone she loved that is now dead. That is why she doesn't want to get close to him or maybe anyone for that matter. She maybe too afraid of losing someone she loves again. Laurence should not be the one to tell him her story, but since he was playing matchmaker he could have at least given him something to work.

Laurence decided to stay out of it as Chris wanted, so his decision to not share something so intimate about Allegra with Chris is consistent. I think you figured it all out. :D

Yes, but they have different reasons. Allegra still loves her late husband and being in love with someone else is the same as cheating on him. Chris gave up on love when his fiancée cheated on him. He doesn't want to experience heartache ever again.

Chris and Allies are apart of each others like and not know it. His friend, his sister, and I am thinking Allies's father and mother. Who is Blake?

Glad Laurence gave Chris his space. It was getting annoying. Hmmm, wonder if Blake is the reason she running hot and cold to Chris?? Chris needs to continue to give her space as she doesn't seem ready to deal with him. Hope she doesn't hurt him.

I know. Laurence was really getting on everyone's nerves. But try to understand him. He knows Chris so well and he just wants him to be happy, even though Chris doesn't want to listen to him. He clearly was in denial before. Now he admits that he wants her.
Blake is...well I can't tell you exactly, but you'll find out in the next chapter, so don't worry.
And Chris will give her space...to some extent. I just can tell you that Allegra and he will be close friends....maybe more?

Right now I am not feeling Allegra, she's a punk!! I am glad that Laurence apologized to to Chris, he's treating that heifer better than he's treating Chris and he's know Chris longer. That is just so wrong!! Will that punk Jack so how up anymore?

Yeah, where does loyalty lie? Laurence is torn apart between his two best friends. He wants them to be together, but he was bugging Chris in an insane manner. But he just wants them to be happy. At least let's give him that.
Allegra is annoying, and a bitch at the moment but maybe you'll like her in the near future?

I need for Chris to learn how to put 2+2 together. He didn't get it with Allegra working at the UN and he's not getting it now with having seemingly worked with her father years ago?? I'm glad Laurence apologized and resolved to do better and we're getting some clues as to why Allegra can be a raging bitch at times. Who is Blake? A past love who died and broke her heart? That would explain why she's so guarded and so against starting something with Chris. She may really see the potential greatness of her feelings for him and is fighting her hardest not to let him in. I'm not sure but what I do know is I'm hooked :D Great job!

Your review just made me sighed in happiness. You figured out a lot. That's all I can tell you. I don't want to spoiler...but I'm glad that you picked out that Chris really lacks basic common sense. He's an intelligent guy and everything, having degress and masters, he is formidable when it comes to maths and economics and any logical reasoning, but when it comes to dealing with life he's so bloody pointless that it hurts. I'm happy that it came across. That's what I wanted. Someone who cant deal with everyday life problems and complicates everything.
Laurence is much more fun now, I guess. Less a jerk, more a friend.
You'll find about Blake in the next chapter. And yes, he is the reason why she's guarded. She doesn't need love. She's happy the way she is. I think that is the similarity between them. They are happy with their lives and they don't want changes. Allegra will fight to not let him in. You'll see it more and more as we go along.
