There are those who have and there are those who don’t. In America, this fact is proved from coast to coast. However each coast, the East, the West, and the Gulf have a different way of establishing the wealthy and powerful. Take the West coast for example; it’s full of plastic blonds and their old husbands, the politically aware actor or actress. West coast power is heavily filled with theatrics and orangeness; it screamed nouveau riche and had a certain gaucheness that couldn’t be taken seriously.

The Gulf coast was filled with hicks and your stereotypical Scarlett O'Hara southern belle types. They prided themselves on working their own backwards power structure and on the local and state level, handling their business like vicious bulldogs. Tenacious and filled with southern charm, southern sensibilities, and southern simple-mindedness, the Gulf coast power was a force to be reckoned with. But no power was quite like the East coast power.

The East's power was old and everlasting. It had more connections making it all the more convoluted. It worked around a global network but domestically, every major player was connected to each other, and competed against one another. It was the power that made this country and could make or break anything that stood in its way. It was old and absolute.

It was god.

You never know power until it’s in your hands, flowing from your fingertips in golden rays. It was the stuff men dreamed of.

Dream of.

Will dream of.

And when all that power that lies in your hands, it can corrupt and rape even the purest of hearts leaving nothing behind; when power consumes the soul, the body, and the mind, there is no escape.
