Sheree sipped her wine in her favorite chair, and asked herself how the fuck did I get here? She was stone cold addicted to a married man. She should have listened to her mentor Mr. Cai when he warned her not to get involved with Yixing. She remembered it like it was yesterday when he took her out for lunch, and looked at her with those knowing eyes.
"Du Ya", he called to Sheree from the other side of the table. She knew it was serious because he used the Chinese name he'd given her. She could also tell from how expensive this restaurant was that Cai was going to drop a bomb on her.
"Yixing", he said softly, and Sheree tensed.
Mr. Zhang had been pursuing her every since their little mishap after the monthly expense report meeting and truth be told he was wearing her down. She tried to keep it professional, but he wouldn't give up. He told her that he had always gotten what he wanted and he wanted her. Just thinking about him made her feel some indescribable feeling that she could not express in words.
As her eyes shifted down and she thought about the moments she had shared with Yixing. Cai cleared his throat. He was a man of very few words so she had better listen carefully, and she knew that he was on to her by the look of knowing he was giving her.
"I've known Yixing since he was a boy", he began. "That child was always too spoiled and didn't know the definition of the word no. I tried to tell his father but he didn't listen you know because of that we fell out for weeks", he asked?
Sheree just smiled at him as the old man reminisced about his old friend. At his words her curiosity was peeked, and she wanted to know more about Yixing.
"That child became a selfish man. One who knows his business, but as an individual he lacks the proper character us Chinese pride ourselves on. I'm not saying I know everything because I don't but I know this much there is much you don't know, and you need to be careful. You are like a daughter to me Du Ya, and I need you to heed my warning.
And heed she did do, but it didn't last long. She held out for three months before Yixing showed up at her door, and kissed her senseless. That was the beginning of the end, and a new tradition was started. Every 1st and 15th he was at her door faithfully like the mail man, and then every 1st and 15th became one a week. Her job was just to wait for him. It was then she figured he was just as addicted to her as she was to him.
She looked at the clock and knew it was about that time. How she wanted things to be different. Of course she wanted to be his only one, but life had thrown her a pair of cards she just didn't know how to fold. She knew it was wrong and no good could come from it, but she did her dirt anyway. She just hoped it wouldn't catch up with her anytime soon.
Her door knob began to turn and she fixed her eyes on the door ready for him. Unlike their usual pattern where she just took everything he threw at her this time was different. When he entered her emotions were all over the place. She loved him deep down inside, but hated him for making her become a home wrecker.
"Sit" she told him.
He sat across from her and looked at her intently.
"I'm a busy man let's get to it you know the drill."
"NO", she told him. "
"What do you mean no", he laughed? "It's too late to say no you are already in too deep, and so am I. So let's just get to it."
"When were you going to tell me" she squeaked?
"Tell you what" he said staring into her soul?
She looked down at the coffee table that separated the chairs they sat in, and then he saw it. The gleaming gold band starring back at him like a ghost, that ring had been haunting his life since he was 17. He didn't owe her an explanation for shit even if they had been fucking for over a year.
"Either you want it or you don't. I'm not here for this discussion."
She bit her lip which only made him want her more. Why did things have to be like they were? Why couldn't he be free? Yeah, sure he led a blessed life, but money wasn't everything. Too bad that's a lesson he learned in life a little too late. She got up and opened the door. Was she serious right now? She couldn't tell him no what was this? He was going to leave he really was, but not without what he came here for.
She was serious she wanted him gone when he made it to the door she could see him pleading eyes, and she knew were this was headed. He laid a kiss so passionate on her lips. How could she resist him now when he wanted her so bad? Again and again she kept coming back to him. This is why he didn't respect her because he knew she'd give in.
And just like those other times she let him have his way with her. With just one caress, with just one lick, and with just one stroke all was forgotten for the moment. In that moment he was hers and she was his. They were both in too deep and couldn't stop even if they wanted to. He needed her more than he would ever admit. Every week he looked forward to her pillow talk more than he looked forward to her body. With her he wasn't Zhang Yixing heir to Zhang Holdings and Stocks. He was just plain Yixing a little boy who just wanted to please his father.
He was truly the weak one in their relationship. She could really leave him at anytime and he would be stuck in his continuous bubble of unhappiness. With her he knew what happiness was and it wasn't a sham marriage to another heiress, and creating a suitable heir. It wasn't being stuck in a job he hated. It was being inside of her warmth, and being someone who just wanted to understand him. She was his happiness. No matter how bad he treated her, how selfish he was, and how dirty he was as a person she accepted him and that's all he ever wanted.
