Harvey had always thought her beginning would be in Seoul. She thought after she found that translation job at twenty-four that everything was set in stone for her. However, being so young and hopeful was the beginning of her downfall.

She remembers the day she met him very clearly. It dry and the sun shined so brightly, it gave her a headache. She was startled on her way back from work when she reached the elevator and saw a man laying lifeless in it—Harvey wondered why no one was him there, with his wrists slit. She made sure the elevator door kept open as dragged him to her room.

She anxiously glanced at the young man, calling the police as she dressed his wounds.

“Sang-chul, it’s been a while.”

“You too Harvey.  I’ll tell Ma you I saw you. So, you found a kid in the elevator?”

“Yeah, he looked like he tried to kill himself. I think he’s breathing so it’d be best to take him to the emergency room.”

“Sure. Since you’re one that found him, you’re going to ride with him to the hospital. I’ll follow with my car.”

She nods, heading in after the paramedics into the ambulance. She looked the younger man before brushing his bangs out of his face.

“You’re too pretty to die this way, you know.”

When they arrived the hospital, the doctor shook his head saying ‘It’d be a miracle if he wakes up with such a weak pulse and slow heartbeat.’ However, like a miracle, the first thing he did was open his eyes. They had been the most beautiful shade of chestnut brown—they darted around, until stared at her.

“Ah, you’re awake, I’ll call for the doctor right away.” She could feel a hand grip her skirt— “Don’t leave me here.” He says. For a minute she wanted to do just that. Not call Sang-chul or anything, just sit there, by his side. Instead she shooed his hand away, walking to the nurses’ station.

“Hey. He’s awake, try questioning him.”

“Ok, ok Auntie. Huh? Where are you going? You have to release him later.”

“It’s alright, I just want to go for a walk.”

She did want to clear my head, so she began walking around the hospital, recalling the evening’s events. Harvey wondered who that young man was—looking at him closer, she felt as she knew him from somewhere. But from where, she pondered. While she was lost in my thoughts, she heard a group of nurses talking in the lobby.

“I heard the heir of our hospital went missing. The Chairmans are putting up a lot of money for whoever finds him.”

“I know! Right before their company dinner. I heard it was postponed. It sucks too, I wanted to meet Mari.”

“You meet Mari? As if? What, do you think this is some drama where the rich man picks up any old girl off the market and marries her?”

“What do you know, Yu-bin? I might be the next chairman someday. You should be nicer to me.”

“Mari, huh.” She says to herself, swishing her hips as she made her way back to the room. She walked as nurses rushed out the room before her heard one thing being yelled from outside the room.

“Where is she! I don’t want anyone here except for her!”
