I like you're story, but I have to be honest. I'm so tired of these stories where the leading man sleeps around and the leading woman is a precious virgin. It's so sexist seriously. There's nothing wrong with the woman not being the virgin. Or the man being the virgin for once. I swear societal standards and opinions are so brainwashed in our heads, it's sad.

There is no detention in college or a principal for that matter. Also, your characters seem really immature to be in college. If this were a high school story that would make much more sense. You might want to reconsider or rewrite your story so it can make sense. And you might want to get a beta reader as well. It's a good storyline, there's just some mistakes that are hard to ignore.

It doesn't seem like she would end up going to school for art and becoming a teacher since she was soo smart and always had her books with her. Her profile as a child doesn't match up with her as an adult. As a teenager there's no indication of her  being interested in art so to choose art as her career field seems off. Instead of writing her as a "nerd" in high school maybe you should write her as one of those teenagers that were considered a little off beat.

Already not liking Rochelle...too ghetto and childish.
