Summary:

 

Pathologist Alexx Woods has been widowed for well over two years now.  Promoted to Chief Medical Examiner, she’s flourishing professionally.   Friends and colleagues at Miami-Dade’s CSI department have been wonderfully supportive, especially bad boy CSI Ryan Wolfe, who, to the surprise of everyone, has gone above and beyond the call of friendship in his quest to ‘be there’ for the team’s favorite ‘mother’ figure. 

Yet as Valentine’s Day approaches, life is about to change once again for Alexx.  It all starts with a misunderstanding and the arrival of an unexpected visitor.  The startling revelations that ensue compel her to delve into long suppressed emotions, confront rigid societal conventions and her own deep seeded fears about loving again.
