Nikki is definitely under the Sunny spell but also appears that Sergei is too!!

I don't know what I think yet. I understand Sunshine can help change Nikki but I want her to be young and have fun and enjoy her life..not be responsible for transforming this criminal.

Yes he seems to be softening but if Pops gets help and stops gambling will he reslly let her go..I am not sure he will..especially as hooked on her as he is becoming.

I really like the way he is treating her with care and tenderness but ugly Niki is right at the surface threatning to come out at any minute and when that happens...what happens with Sunny. I think she is already kinda of taken aback from all he represents now!

Great chapter.  It was about time that jackass did what was best for his kids.  Sunshine will be very happy to know that her father is going to a meeting.  I am enjoying Sunshine and Nik. Can't wait for more.

oh good, some effort on pops part.

I'm glad that dad decided to go for help. Sergei worries me, he is obsessing over her it seems. Nikolai will have a fit if he sees that picture he keeps carrying around. I like Nikolai and Sunshine, granted it's a horrible deal but he cares for her.

It's about time that Jake did something for himself. Looks like tough love may work for him.

Yet another beautifuly done chapter, and her father is trying. Yay!

This is a sad thing to say; BUT I HOPE IT SNOWS!!!

I am happy to see that Pop has gone to his first meeting.  I hope that he keeps it up.

Nikolai and Sunny seem to be getting closer.  I wonder will he get her a cat :D  LOL!

Sergei is pining for her I hope he does not make a mistake and allows Nikolai see that picture of him and Sunny and Benji that would not be so good for him.

The gardener I bet will not be sleeping on the job again but then he is being replaced soooo.

What a nice turn of events. This chapter is just filled with hope.

He was 1/2 hour late for a meeting?????  Unheard of. LOL.  Sunshine is turning is life upside down already. I love it.  I think Nikolai needs Sunshine more than he knows.  She is humanizing him.

It looks like Sergei has a photo of Sunshine?  If so, I hope he is careful with it around Nikolai...actually, I think he should keep it hidden.  Nikolai is SUCH a jealous man.  He had the gardner beaten for sleeping. Nikolai will do worse if he knows that Sergei has her photo.

Sunshine called her brother in the last Update, but she didn't seem to care about her father.  I am glad to see in this Update that she does care about it.  Yes, he has not been the best father, but you cannot turn off love like a faucett.  And Alcoholics Anonymous...great.

I can't wait for the next Update!

Every chapter makes me love this story, more and more. 

Nikolai is so sweet with Sunshine.  And she feels very open with him...so he opens up to her.  He is a hard man, who is actually making himself open and vulnerable to her.  I love it.

I like the part about Nikolai's tatoos.  It reminds me of that Italian actor Viggo Morenson in the movie, Eastern Promises (good movie, btw).

Yaay an update! I'm glad to see that Nikolai wants to protect her from some of the realities of his life, but I wish he'd look a little closer at what he's doing to her life. I want to root for theem, but I can't as long as it feels like he's using her. Excellent writing to leave me so conflicted.
