Honestly, they both have a point. She's saying to just prepare them is all. But he's not wrong in what he said about telling them what a wonderful person she was and not foucusing on race. Funny thing is, if he had told her he told them she was black before they started dating, she probably would have asked why should it matter? Catch 22. However, sometimes race does matter more than we want to admit.
I think the parents will be fine with it. Or at least as fine as her family was when they met him.
I think Jason has some unresolved feelings he needs to talk about and handle. I don't know how they reacted with his father and that situation, but he sees them as the enemy. Maybe he felt his aunt didn't help him and his mom when they needed it back then. Whatever the case, he needs to deal with it.
