OK huge fan over here and was beyond overjoyed to see a double update. As far as the question of frequency of updates, I think waiting until you're finished to upload is my vote. Would it be possible for us to get some of your earlier stuff to tide us over until this one's finished? At any rate, I'll probably be rereading this one.
This last chapter had me laughing at Diya's vagina pak and just enjoying their chemistry and blossoming love story. Although I know there will be obstacles ahead from both sides of their families and their opposites sometimes colliding, I'm looking forward to see how it all plays out.

Is her dad uber rich from old money or something? The way he judges a person from a glance and dismisses them makes wonder just how stuck up is this guy, and how in the world did Diya become the person she is under his wing. I hope Brandon's temper mellows out because it is not going to help in this situation. It will only add more fuel to the inevitable fire.

William is self-made and wealthy, but not uber rich. His reaction to Brandon had less to do with snobbery and more to do with Brandon's race and appearance. Between William's Southern upbringing and experiences as a defender of civil rights, most of his interactions with men who look like Brandon have been less than pleasant. As for Brandon's temper, mellowing is possible, but unlikely. Thanks Vemo.

Diya and her Branny are the cutest! I do understand where Diya is coming from with her over-the-top family, but she really needs to take the leap of faith and trust that Branny will leap with her! Baby steps though, lol. I like that even though she was terrified of her father's reaction, she still acknowledged Brandon, so there is that.
I would love for you to continue to update when you have time, and not necessarily wait until the whole book is completed, but that is just my humble opinion...I will read it anyway you decide to write it...love all your stories!

I enjoyed this chapter very much. From Mannie trying to get himself castrated by Diya's friend Zeria. To the ice pack making noise and Diya forgetting about it. Got to say Brandon is one man I would't mind having to deliver me lunch , flowers, and a teddy bear after breaking one's va-jay-jay. I love his protectiveness over Diya because you can truly tell he loves her. And sure I do would sign and submit to his will. The ice bpack scene was hilarious. That damn Chandi is just oo much for words. Between Chandi and William one would have to be heavily medicated, but highluy entertained. Looking forward to the next chapter.

That sneaky Brandon is so perfect...I am so fangirling over you, Ms Jax...I loved Diya's response to Brandon when William was approaching...she knew that if she tried to hide him, she would do severe damage to their relationship, so asking him for a kiss that her father would clearly see, showed Brandon that Diya truly loves him and is not ashamed of him...and his response to just kiss her hand shows that he truly loves her and didn't want meeting her father as Diya's boyfriend the first time to start off a firestorm for her...I so love this couple...you are remarkable to create characters that feel so real to me...I knew William would find out...but Diya standing up for herself, I loved...And Brandon's note "as long as you come back to me" had me swooning...just beyond brilliant...Ok as for updating...to be honest, I really, really, really look forward to updates and tend to reread chapters during the wait...I find all sorts of goodies in doing so...I'm spoiled with getting updates, as you write because this story is brilliant and I am too excited to read more...that said, I will always read your work whenever you post...I support any approach you decide to take on finishing the story as long as you bless me with more of their journey...I am always so excited to read your updates...you made my week with two chapters...I so appreciate you sharing your gift with us...may you continue to be blessed...

Diya's request for a kiss and Brandon's response said what both needed to hear: That she wasn't ashamed and he understood that and wouldn't force her into making introductions before she was truly ready. The note was the icing on the cake, and a reminder that, despite his teasing, Brandon understood Diya's need to leave,, and loved her. Understanding and love are two things they're both going to need going forward, as William won't take his new discovery lying down. More on that next chapter.

Dag, so the honeymoon really is over, and the ish is gonna start hitting the fan. I can tell by the way Daddy De La Roy has responded so far. I have to give Diya some credit though ... it seems she was trying to hold it down with being open about her relationship. I agreed with Diya in that, 'that' particular moment probably wasn't the best to introduce Brandon formally as her boyfriend to her dad. Especially with Mannie (her dads chosen) present. Also, given that she didn't get a chance to really plan for an introduction, then I would say she held it down pretty good. Sadly, you can tell she would love to share her new love with the world, but is afraid of how it may impact them. One thing is for sure is that they're in for a challenge ... one I 'really' hope they're up for.

You're so very welcome : ) Diya is a mess. She did attempt to tell her father about Brandon, twice. But it wasn't the right time and neither Brandon nor her father really gave her the opportunity. You're absolutely right: Brandon is Diya's world. She would love to tell her family about him and have them love him as much as she does, but knows better and fears the impact their reaction will ultimately have on her and Brandon's relationship. And for good reason.
Yes, Mal and Milla will meet, God help them all...

Diya's doesn't care what her family thinks about Brandon beyond what it'll make them do. With the exception of not wanting her father to know she was sleeping with Brandon, literally and figuratively, she never has. She's kept their relationship a secret with the sole intent of protecting it. In the past, her father has successfully run-off multiple boyfriends he didn't approve of for his girls (see the chapter 8 convo between Diya and Zeria). He'll definitely try with Brandon, and Diya is terrified he'll succeed--fears that may prove well-founded. Thanks Janez91!

At this point, Diya need to pull up her big girl panties, heck even if they are granny panties and get prepared for the war. If she loves Brandon as much as she thinks then she cannot roll over and play dead like she's done so much before. You can love and respect your parents and family but you cannot live FOR them. If your family loves and respects you then they will abide by your decisions. I remember some quote or statement that mentions love doesn't come with conditions, restrictions etc and that should be true of a parents love for their children. I am waiting to hear her woman up but I haven't forgotten about Maria Thoteria and Bryan's need to set parameters with her behind also.

I agree: You can't live for your family. But in Diya's case, you can't discount their ability to make life and carrying on a healthy relationship very difficult. The De la Roys don't just criticize and ostracize. They plot and sabotage. That's her concern. She can make whatever declarations and set whatever boundaries she likes, but she can't make them do or not do anything, as you will soon find out. Marisol is another matter all together. I choked on the popcorn I was munching while reading the Ya, Brandon and Mannie scenes. For Reelz. I couldn't breathe there for a sec I was laughing so damn hard.
I'm getting tired of Diya and her inability to stand up to her father and acknowledging Brandon. He does what he does because she ALLOWS him to do so.
