I feel so sorry for Lucas and wish that he could find someone. Alex is still in love with another man and I don't see any good coming Lucas' way.

I guess we all have to just wait and see. I think that at the moment it would not be wise for Lucas to pursue a relationship with someone else. I know it seems highly unlikely that Alex would ever give him the time of the day, but everything is possible. :D

I think I said something about how bad of an idea revenge was, right? I wasn't far off the bat but seriously, what did Tyler expect? He'd harangued her about her relationship with Lucas ( which is more platatonic than a little bit - at least on one side at the moment) and then expects her to just wait until he deems her worthy of marriage. Tyler needs to heal thyself, seriously. It's a bit of annoying but I'm willing to look past it because this story is ridiculously phenomenal!

Enjoyed it thoroughly! Poor Alex; at her wits end about Tyler and his commitment issues and unable to reconcile her love for him. Harsh as it is, it is a reality and before she can get through, she's gotta go through. That's what I love about this story, it's not afraid to put everything out there on front street. I adore Alex because even though she's weak for her heart, she's learning and understanding that she can make the changes she wants. At this point (even though I'm getting half of the story), I'm not all that into Tyler. He expects that Alex will be there through his chronic issues. I say hooray for Alex for reaching for that breath of fresh air!

Pain makes people do crazy things. Props to Luke for having the rational mind ( if that is entirely possible) of the two. Alex is hurt, she wants to inflict pain but I can guarantee that this gets worst before it gets better. I can't wait to be there for it.

That was so wrong I thought that Alex was drunk too and broke Lucas off a piece. So wrong for that! Lucas has got it bad having sex with who have oasding resemblence to Alex. I still think that Akex knows how Luke feels and doesn't care that she's hurting him. Alex ain't slow just selfish! If she chooses that ounk Tyler in the end I hope that she looses Lucas as a friend!

When I was writing it, I initally thought that maybe Alex should be the one spending 'quality time' with Lucas. Unfortunately, I don't see her cheating on Tyler anytime soon. I don't know if she will in the future, but I reckon that it is highly unlikely.
Yep, poor Lucas.
I obviously cannot tell you too much, but things change, and you just have to wait to see whether Tyler and Alex's relationship will change and whether Lucas would get a chance in the future.
I still think that Alex is really that slow. Is it possible for her to be in denial? I cannot wait to finish writing the next chapter so that you can answer my question. :D

I'm over Tyler. I get that he has issue welcome to real life we all do. That doesn't give him the right to keep jerking Lexie around on his crazy merry go round. Although Lexi is not innocent because she should have left long ago. You can't save everyone. Plus she needs to get with Lucas. I hope she leaves Tyler for good.

I think Tyler has a long way to go before he can claim to love anyone. Love comes with a lot of attachments, trust and respect being at the top of the list and something Tyler lacks for Alex. I would like them together but I think the Tyler I see now is not worth the effort.

I think he needs to love himself first. When he recognises that he is worthy as an individual and that he deserves to be love, he will stop questioning Alex's love.

Yep. Agreed. He needs to deal with his abandonment issues by talking things through with his mother. Until he does that, there is no room for recovery here. Shame that he knows this himself but doesn't see it because he doesn't feel that he is the patient.
Jemima is going to be so much trouble and you'll hate her. Heck, I hate her already. You won't see her for a while, but the woman is always plotting underground.

I have read your story so far and if other readers aren't going to say this, then I will. First of all, I love this story so far and you did a great job. To me, this story is so sad to read because this is a simple case of emotional abuse that Tyler is doing to Lexi and reading this chapter just proves it. Every abuser will shed their tears after many times they hurt the person that he/she loves and that lover will automatically takes them back and then later that lover will be hurt over and over and over again. That is what Tyler is doing. To me, Tyler is crazy and even if he does get help that he needs, I do not think he will be so accepting IF Lexi decided to be with Lucas.
I am Team Lucas all the way and I understand that Lexi loves Tyler, but that kind of love does not mean you have to subject yourself to be hurt like a dozen of times and being accused of something that you did not do 24/7. I do think that Lexi will eventually get tired and say bye bye to Tyler for good because a person can take so much of their lover's bullcrap. I do not care what anyone say, so far Tyler is crazy and desperate.
You did a great job capturing these characters and it is sad that there are real people like these three (Tyler, Lexi, and Lucas) going through the same problem in this world today. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE TO THE MAN UPSTAIRS LEXI, BE WITH LUCAS!

You captured the essence. Tyler is so concentrated on his fears and past wounds that he fails to see that he is emotionally abusing Alexandra. He can't really see her pain until she leaves and he realises what a douche he really is. However, his promises are easily broken as he gets engulfed back by his feelings, his pain, his fears and forgets about Alex all over again.
If I were Lexi I would have left ages ago, but it seems that she's so in love with him as well that she fails to see that he doesn't really want to change. She's blind. They're both blind.
Oh, I just realised that another name for this story could be BLIND. Oh, well. Should have thought about that before. Lol.
Alex and Tyler both needs to open their eyes, and I believe that for Tyler's sake he should be the one to open them before, because if Lexi will truly understand the nature of their relationship, and will do so fully, she won't be coming back for more abuse and pain.

Tyler has never dealt with his mother's leaving and has serious abandonment issues. He will never get better until he deals with that because even though he loves Alex, his fear of abandonment is controling every decision he makes and most of them are self destructive.
I hope that he will be able to get better and Alex needs to face the fact that he may not ever get well if he doesn't get the help he needs.

I agree with you. He never got over his mother's abandonment. And what is really annoying is that he knows all this, but is still afraid to go and get help. I guess his behaviour is a safety blanket but he does not understand that what he's doing will not protect him. It will only hurt him and Alex and what they have.
Hopefully he will get better. But probably not until he realises that whatever he might do in the future may lead to awful consequences.

i really liked this update :) i understood Tyler and felt for him - there's no fun feeling like a stranger in your own family but like Lexi said they have issues and should fix that before having a family - kids wont patch up their relationship.

Tyler is so clueless. He really needs to get to that shrink and fast. Did he hear anything Lucas said? Did it sink in when Lucas told him, "yes I'm inlove with her, but she's in love with you." Did that give him any reassurance that nothing is going on between those two.
I want Tyler to have an epiphany or something or I'm going over to team Lucas. I don't want him to keep hurting Alex because of his issues. He needs to piss or get off the pot!
What will it take, a crack upside his skull to realize what he's doing to Alex?

I think he listens only to what he wants to. And that is why he still suspects.
He will have an epiphany but I don't know if he'll have it in time. We'll see about that. And yes, it will probably take the crack for him to realise that he needs to get over himself and love Alex like she deserves.
