"Why dont you tell him that Trent is the man you slept with. This was before you even met. He has no reason to hold it against you . Trent and Gavin have been friends for years, they should be able to overcome this.” Dr. Scroder asked

"Are you kidding me? You make your living off of people's inability to deal with situations in a rational manner. You of all people know know craptastic this can turn out."

Is that the only reason you haven't told Gavin that Trent has been calling you, harassing you?"

"Of course that is the only reason. I just want Trent to leave me alone. I don't want to upset Gavin anymore. It's really hard always being the lesser in the relationship. When is he going to decide enough is enough and he doesn't need to deal with someone like me."
"Please explain what type of person are you?"

"What is the likelihood that they would even know each other much less good friends. I just don't understand why I can't be allowed this bit of happiness."
"Who is threatening your happiness? Is it Trent, Gavin or is it you Nyla? Let me know whom you decide at our next session.
*******************************************************

Nyla sat in Gavin's car enjoying the scenery as they made their way to his parents house for dinner. Gavin's mother had invited them over so they could get to know each other without his entire family present. At least someone in the family was thinking. In the two weeks since the dinner with Gavin's friends things had gone back to normal. Nyla was still nervous about Gavin's upcoming monthly basketball game with Trent but she tried not to let him catch on. Oddly, Nyla was less nervous meeting his parents than her last meet and greet. Maybe her therapy sessions were working or maybe it was the Xanax she took prior to leaving the house, either way she was feeling pretty good.

"Nyla we're here." he said she must have dozed off again. Gavin thought it was cute, she couldn’t be in the car for longer than 20 minutes without falling asleep. They were pulled in front of a large estate with lush manicured lawn and elegant entryway. Gavin rushed around to open the door and they walked hand in hand to the door. He loved touching her, just holding her pinky gave him contentment. Gavin chuckled to himself, so this is what it is like being whipped, love struck whatever you called it he had it.

Nyla looked up at him "What, what's so funny? I don't have drool on my face right." She asked quickly swiping the back of her hand to her chin.
Gavin laughed harder." No I was just laughing at myself not you honey."
She furrowed her brow in confusion but did not ask for clarification.
The door swung open and a beautiful older blonde woman was in the entry. "Please come in. Son you finally decided to visit your mother. I thought I was going to have to make an appointment to see my only child." She admonished.

Nyla smirked internally watching Gavin's cheeks become flush with color.

"Mom your right, but its not my fault. It's Nyla's. She doesn't let me out of the bedroom much less the house unless I'm going into surgery." He said trying not to laugh at the choked sounds coming from Nyla.

Nyla gasped "Ma'am that's not true, I ... We " she sputtered too embarrassed to be coherent.

"Will you two stop" a gruff voice pierced through the laughter.

" Don't you think you've embarrassed the girl enough, and the evening has just begun.
"Good Evening, son haven't we taught you any manners or didn't you learn them at the fancy prep school that we sent you to.”

"Mom, dad this is Nyla Rogers."

"Nyla, meet my mother Joan and my father Aedan McKeough."

"Joan, Aedan it is nice to meet you"

"Yes it's nice to finally meet the girl who has my Gavin so wrapped up he forgets his own mother" she huffed.

"Let's get dinner started" Gavin said to ease the growing tension.

"After dinner Nyla, I can give you a tour of the gardens. We don't have much longer before my blooms whither."

"I would like that." Nyla answered though it wasn't really a question.

They foursome made there past the elegant dining room to the beautiful large kitchen. The expansive island dominated the space with sparkling marble countertops and finely crafted cherry wood cabinets. We finally arrived to a more intimate dining area, yet no less beautiful, the men seated the woman and soon after the housekeeper served dinner. They had a traditional Irish stew that was delicious.

"Have you ever had Irish stew before Nyla?" Joan asked.

" No, honestly I've never had any Irish dishes before, but it s delicious."

"Thank you. I still do most of the cooking though I defer to Ida if we are having a large dinner party. Do you like to cook? That last girl Ab"

"Mom can you please" Gavin asked giving her a pointed look.

"What, all I was going to say was she wasn't really interested in being a homemaker."

"Well the dishes I do make I'm pretty good at.but I tend to get into trouble because I want to stray off the recipe when I try new things and that has led to some interesting dinners."

"At least you can cook, I don't know what to make of you young girls nowadays. A career is important but so is a family."

"Trust me I know how important family is" Nyla responded her voice wistful.
They finished most of their meal in a companionable silence.

Gavin sat an observed Nyla, he liked that she didn't cower to his mother who had a tendency to be pushy. He had acknowledge to himself that though he assured Nyla everything would be fine he wanted them to like each other. He wanted her to be accepted by his family because he wanted he wanted her to be a part of his family . He was trying to integrate her into his life but he felt like she really wasn't trying to do the same. He had only spoken briefly to her sister in Canada even though he had offered for them to drive up or fly up to see her, since Nyla said her sister couldn't take time off work. There was always an excuse to keep him at arms length. At first it didn't bother him but he was starting to wonder if the would ever be at the same point in their relationship.

"Gavin your quiet, what's wrong?" Aedan asked him as the sat in the library waiting for Nyla and Joan to finish their tour.

"She's different than what I expected."

"Different how?" Gavin was briefly worried they were going to have some antiquated race relations conversation.

" It’s not her color I thinking of Gavin. You should know better than that. I saw her eyes dim when your mom mentioned her having a family. I was your mothers strength, I’m a man that’s how it is supposed to be but I wanted to spare you son. It’s a hard road when the woman you love is hurting. But I noticed you never looked at Abagail like that in the years you forced that girl down our throats. That's why I wouldn't give you Grandmothers ring. I knew she wasn't the one I'd call my daughter."

"And after one dinner you feel that Nyla is?"

"No. After one dinner I realize that you feel like she is and that's all that matters."

"We haven't been together that long, not even six months. I've never been one to rush in but with her I can't help it."
" That's because she's it. Your granddad met my Granny and married her within 2 weeks. I met your mum and 6 weeks later she was my wife. You were with the other one two years and you couldn't figure out she wasn't it. You kids have to have your phone calls so fast you keep a phone on you all the time, email has to be instant but when you find the right woman you want to take your time. You young people nowadays are daft the whole lot of you".

Gavin looked at his father and smiled "Dad you always know what to say.
Let go find Nyla and mom"

Nyla walked on pace with Gavin's mother through the beautiful gardens. She obviously took great pride in her flowers. Though Nyla didn't have a green thumb she still enjoyed the beauty and fragrance of all the blooms strategically placed to optimize the visual splendor.
"I know Gavin is 33 years old but to me he is still my baby boy. It is hard for me to accept that he has grown up but I'm very proud of who he has become. I wasn't born into this wealth."

Nyla stiffened at her statement but held her tongue for the older woman to continue.

"Aedan’s family left Ireland before I was born. They would come to visit when I was sixteen and he told me he was coming back for me. I didn't believe him but he did and I was seeing someone else. He quicklyput end to that and we married soon after. I was nervous that his family wouldn't accept me, maybe they would want someone from America who had made something of themselves. In the beginning I felt inadequate especially after we lost our daughter. Gavin tells me that's a sad thread that binds us. Its a sisterhood I wish you weren't apart of. I'll be honest I don't know if you are right for my son."
"Wow your just going to put that out there, huh. Truth is neither do I. Just having him my life makes me yearn for things I've long since given up on."

"So why waste his time"

"I'm selfish. I'm happier than I have been and I don't want to lose him. I want to be enough for him"

"I suppose you are. When a Mckeough falls in love it's for good. That's why I'm hoping you love my son lass because he is in love with you."

"I know. I feel, the same."
They sat on a small bench admiring her rose bushes when Nyla broke the silence.

" How did you get past it how'd you know you were really past it" she asked timidly.

"You don't get past the loss of a child and yours is compounded because you lost a spouse. Aedan is who helped put me back together and it seems history will repeat itself."

"I don't want that. No offense to you but I want to go to him as he is coming to me. Whole. He deserves that. "

"You deserve that too Nyla, but we don’t always get what we deserve. There will always be pieces of your soul missing that are with the family you had before but that doesn't mean there isn't enough left to start again."

"God I hope your right" Nyla said with a shaky laugh.

Soon after Nyla heard heavy footsteps belonging to Gavin and Aedan. "Ladies Ida is calling us into the house for chocolate mousse and coffee. I for one will not keep her waiting."

"When it comes to chocolate mousse I don't have to be told twice" Nyla said rising from the bench.

"Who are you kidding, once it comes to food you don't ave to be told twice " Gavin joked putting his arm around her. He felt Nyla snake her arm around his waist and rest her head on his shoulder. They watched the older couple walk through the lamp lit gardens and Gavin voiced Nyla's silent prayer. With a nod of his head acknowledging his parents he whispered " I want that to be us in thirty years".

His admission made her choke up and tears well in her eyes. She couldn't speak, she simply nodded her head in agreement and gripped him tighter.

They finally bid his parents goodnight around 9:30. They had eaten two slices of the best chocolate mouse ever and Nyla was softly snoring before they pulled out of the drive way. He decided not to wake her when they got home. He froze hovering over her sleeping body, realizing he now considered her house home. Granted, they spent the bulk of their time there but he loved his condo just not as much anymore. He felt restless on nights that he spent their longing to be in Nyla's beach house in the city. He picked her up, thank God her weight didn't match her appetite or he would have thrown his back out. Even though she wasn't a big woman getting the door open with her in his arms was almost impossible. Almost. "Whew, damn girl that was a workout." He muttered after he laid her down undressing her and putting her to bed. He took a quick shower and climbed into bed with her.

Gavin woke up in the mst pleasurable ways possible. His rock hard staff in Nyla’s warm mouth as she licked him like her favorite lollypop. “Jesus, Nyla you feel so good. Suck me”
Nyla barely registered his words. She was fully engrossed in suckling the warm hard flesh in her mouth. She licked the underside of his swollen shaft and smiled to herself when she felt him shudder. She pumped her hand while she paid more attention to his sack but suddenly her position was changed and Gavin was looming over her. He pulled her up roughly by the shoulders and hooked both legs over his elbows spreading her wide before spearing into her to the hilt in one swift movement. He bucked into her wildly with little finesse just overwhelming desire. He cradled her ass to dive deeper into her depths.
This was not going to take long her velvet box clutched him too tight and her sweet moisture coated his dick.
"Jesus, this is what you do to me. Fuck ahh." Gavin groaned as he felt her first orgasm spasm over his cock.
"Gavin baby please don't stop, take it" she urged him deeper encouraging his manhandling. She felt him pull out of her and bend her on her side so her chest touched her knees, he plunged into her again gripping her hips he swiveled his own causing her to cry out.
"Oh god Gavin, gav.." The rest trailed off as the came together. Gavin's abs tightened and his buttocks flexed to get deeper as he released everything he had in her.

"That was incredible." Nyla's said after some moments passed with her finally catching her breath. Gavin wasn't so lucky he grunted in response and pulled her closer to him.
"I have a meeting at three but I'm free till then." She said
He responded by pulling her closer, apparently he had gone caveman.
She was pressed close to him she noticed a scar on his shoulder .
“When I'd you get that scar on shoulder" she asked caressing it. She asked unsure if he would answer.?”
"I was sixteen and flipped off my dirt bike and got sliced by a price of jagged rock."
"I can beat that. I flipped over this kid Darius riding on my bike and I literally flew into tree slid down onto the gravel. She pushed into a old scar, feel right there I still got a piece in there the couldn't get it out."
"This one on my chin was my first and only bar room brawl junior year of college. I was drunk and some girl hit on me and her boyfriend wanted to rearrange my face to make me a little less pretty. I kicked his ass but he got in a few good shots and sliced me with a broken beer bottle."
" I didn't know you upper crust country club kids got down like that."
"We don't my cousins were here from Dublin. Yeah I was basically forbidden from hanging out with them after the police called my dad. "
" My favorite scar is on my face, weird right but my daughter gave it to me. I was so afraid to cut her nails. I would just put on those hand mittens. Well one day little miss Ava took them off. I was playing with her and she swiped me good and proper. I was so upset but now it's my little reminder that my angel was here for a little while.
Gavin didn't know what to say . She rarely ever spoke of her daughter, this was the first time without prompting.
"Thank you for sharing that with me, you can tell me anything Nyla. You know that don't you?.”
"Yeah, I do.”
"Good”
"Gavin I have to tell you something .”
