Title: Chapter 16: “If anything happens to her I swear to god I’ll fucking kill you.”

This chapter captured Adam and Shaun to the letter! Its how it is right now.

So, Shaun...I'm gonna need her to get a grip and summon up some self respect here. She feels horrible, she's apologized, now get it together. I guess the groveling was a bit much for me. Its almost like she thinks what she did was worse than what he did, when in truth, they were both lying to help/keep their careers!

As far as the job goes, she did go to school to become a writer and she really needs a clean start out of L.A! Celia was right about that much. She needs to be independent and on her own to see what she can do with herself. Away from Celia, her parents, and especially, Adam. In other words, get on with her life now. They need this time apart to heal and forgive each other, and themselves. I'm rooting for them to be together in the end, but this is exactly what Shaun needs right now. And lets hope she's not pregnant. Shaun really needs her own time now.

Adam...eh! He'll be ok. He has a decent grasp on it all, even if he is being a bit of a drama queen. He knows himself even better than I thought. Much deeper than I gave him credit for.

Title: Chapter 4: {Four}

Will and Ana...yay! He don't play. Dude got some serious connections going on.

Horace should have just left that alone, given he knew exactly what the situation was with Ana and his client. Kinda glad Will kicked his ass and its good that Will has Frederick's face now. I hope Will destroys that a-hole.

Frederick is a sicko. What has Ana to do with how his life is going, or will go? This maniac wants the woman who carried his seed, but not the seed herself? His parents haven't done this man any favors in life.

I wonder what became of Monica? Really curious about that heifer. I'm glad Vincent and Gretchen kicked her ass!

Great!!

Title: Chapter 3: {Three}

Glenna is making a huge mistake going up against Will like this. Elle too, for that matter. Despite her getting to him at the beginning, Will didn't get to where he is in life by being anyone's fool. And Elle, she acts like a lioness protecting her cub when it comes to Ana. That little girl loves her momma something fierce! Edward wasn't kidding about her. Speaking of him, I think he should go to Elle, if not Will, with what Glenna has on him. His honestly could go a long way in this situation. At any rate, this is going to end badly for Glenna.

Gretchen, she made me cry with all those emotions going everywhere. She's so happy and hopeful to have her friend back. Elle wants desperately to see the real Ana, too. This is good.

Ana, she made me so proud. This takes courage and strength. She'll do it.

Will, he's a stand-up guy. He's just sweetly and gently bringing Ana out of her shell. It's the only way to proceed with Ana, really. She'll clam up with anything else. The Moores took enough from her and Elle, for that matter. Time to reclaim herself back. She'll never be the same, but she can be the best she can be. They took her love for herself, her trust in herself and ability to truly let go and love someone else. Twenty years is long enough!

Wonderful!!

Title: Chapter 1: {One}

That's because Will, you need a woman, not a little girl. Drop this chick!

Ana is going to be a winner here.

And Gretchen...ride or die chick, I see already.

Love it already.

Title: Chapter 2: {Two}

What a beautiful chapter. Will's absolute gentleness will be Ana's undoing. In the loveliest of ways, though. Ana still needs therapy, though.

I hope you will shed more light on Frederick, and especially, Monica. The fact that this woman would not only fight her little brother, but help facilitate the rape of one of her friends, all for the other brother. Did she supply women for him to rape on a regular basis? What happened with these people? I would love some answers to these question. Interesting dynamic with that.

Glenna, she needs to go anyway. Too immature and too desperate; and too young to be so.

Elle, while I don't like the fact that Hector took it upon himself to tell her how she was conceived, I'm still glad she knows. Ana might never have; and who could blame her? How do you tell your child something like that?

Will, what a wonderful man. Such kindness, compassion, and humanity. His stats arent bad either...lol! What the hell is he doing with someone like Glenna anyway?

Title: Chapter 5: {Five}

"You ain't got no problem, Ana. He's on the *MF* Go back in there, chill out and wait for the Wolf (Will) who should be coming directly."

LOL! See that Ana? Ha! That's your baby Will all up in his baby's cool aid! It's gonna be ok! Damn skippy!! Now, let your man show you how a real man works it and treats his woman!

I wish I could say I feel sorry for that poor bastard Frederick who is about to get his whole world rearranged! But, I don't!

Glenna: Well good for her. I'm glad to see she has a conscience after all; that she's redeemable. Because at the end of the day, no mere man (not even Will) is worth all of that.

Edward: Hit him, and hit him hard!

I love Will! He knows what needs to be done to help Ana to trust him...and love him. And love herself. And I love that he loves Elle and gladly considers her his daughter as well.

Damn this chapter was good!!

Title: Chapter 6: {Six}

Man I love this couple!! Will's slow loving of Ana's mind and emotions is a wonder to see. His loving is strong, soft and sensual. And he's making Ana feel that way, as well. This is helping Ana to get to a place of healing in ways she's not even aware of yet. Now maybe she can get the help she needs. She'll never forget it, but she can learn to live with it so she can move forward live her life.

Frederick is a freaking psycho! I can't believe he has constructed this whole fantasy situation around Ana like that. And I'm puzzled as to why his rejection of Elle is so strong. There has to be more to that.

As far as Monica is concerned, she got what she deserved. If she's tortured by what happened and her role on it, she should be!

I really want Will to hurt Frederick, badly!!

Excellent!

Title: Chapter 7: {Seven}

Frederick is truly a pig and will get all that's coming to him. And I hope its painful, too. So will Edward. What a self-absorbed bastard! Anything to get ahead, right?

As usual, Will's gentle loving and understanding of Ana and the situation blows me away! The intimacy Ana allowed Will to share with her was major for her. And that she enjoyed it and didn't make into something of shame was the real breakthrough. I'm so proud of her!

Lovely!

Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Henry's Interrogation

What a mess! My two cents...

Henny: I'm sorry, but right now, I'm on Henny's side. This is all so much for her to take in. She's had to deal with the aftermath of Henry and all that came with that, her entire life. That meant, deal with what that meant as far as her very existence, her extended family, and even her mother. Vanessa says these things to Henny like she was some kind of spectator not affected by all of this. She watched her mother essentially withdraw from life because of the events surrounding her pregnancy, which affected her views about men and relationships.  Henny is trying to piece all of this together and STILL deal with feelings of rejection by her father, and her grandparents. Also, the animosity and anger from her mother's family toward her father's family. Remember, these people are all still strangers that not only rejected her mother, but encouraged their son to have her life terminated; which in fact he went along with. Now, for her parents to get on with life, new baby/family and all, like everything is everything is a lot to ask right now considering its only been three months! She's grown and the hard work of growing up with her has been done. Its hard NOT to feel like an outsider right now.

Vanessa: I don't think she's looking at the big picture at the moment. The one constant I kept hearing from her is that she didn't want to be alone (her choice) and Henny was now grown. Her feelings (and Henry's) seemed to be the only ones in front of her at the moment. Maybe that's why she kept repeating that Henny is grown now. Meaning, her feeling no longer have to come first, exclusively. Maybe that ok, except for the fact that this has all been dumped on Henny. She spent Henny's whole life either avoiding, or downright refusing, to talk about Henry to her when the girl asked. Then, Henny does this bone marrow thing and discovers quite by accident, that this man is her father. Remembering still, at this point, little to no information fro her mother. So when Vanessa looks at Henny and says "you knew I loved your father, I told you that on New Year's," pardon Henny that she cant suddenly spin on a dime with that considering she couldn't even get the man's name out of her before! Vanessa mentioned that she could have seen Henny spending time with Henry's father as a betrayal, how? Vanessa slept with Henry and told Henny she needed to get over it because Henry, her true love, is back! All Henny felt, and still feels, is confused by this very abrupt change in behavior. Wondering when all this happened. On its face, the only thing Henny could conclude was that Vanessa forgave and forgot what they all (including Henry because he did go along with it, nom atter the reasons) had done to her, so if Vanessa did, her reaching out to them shouldn't bother her mother either. Now, it amazes me that Vanessa can't see how the news of this engagement and pregnancy, in the face of how she's behaved and the things she said and not said to Henny throughout her life, bothers Henny. Why wouldn't this make her feel like an outsider? Her mother is still young enough, pregnant again by her only love, going to marry him, and have a nice little family life with their new baby. This child will have everything Henny was denied. That may not be altogether fair on Henny's part, but what do you want from her. She's the only truly innocent victim here. All Vanessa sees is Henry and her second shot, and thats all thats driving her now. Whether her behavior and sudden attitude shift is a complete mystery to her daughter, is not entering in the equation now; because Henny is the one being irrational here. Vanessa said that because she already knew how Henny was going to react.

Henry: I see his heart in the matter, but he's only thinking about himself here, once again. All these I'm sorrys after the fact from him are getting tired. He needs to think about what hell he's doing. How the hell can he tell Henny its all ok and she'll always be his first-born when he didn't even know she existed until three months prior. It all isn't going to be instantly ok because he says so. He doesn't know Henny like that yet to make that claim. All of this is being sumped on her and she just has to roll with the punches, I guess. He's making up for lost time, assuaging his guilt, and getting a new baby all at once. Win-win for him, and thats all he sees. Nevermind the first baby may still need a little more time with all of them right now. This is all happening at lightening speed!

Whew!! Good stuff!

Author's Response:

Flikchik:  I love your reviews because you always see the situation from all sides and it sets a fire to my muse and sometimes even bring to my attention things I've overlooked.  I just love it.  LOL

Everything you said about Henny is true.  It is so confusing for her even if she is 22.  It has been her and her mother for 22 years and yes she's seen her mother withdrawn and pineing for Henry even though she didn't know who Vanessa was pineing for.  Now things are coming together for them but not for her.  She doesn't feel that its been enough time for her to adjust to having a father in her life and now she's going to have a sibling too.

For Vanessa, she feels guilty about what happened on New Years even though she knew that she instigated the whole sex thing.  She feels guilty about wanting Henry still, but that doesn't stop her from indulging in her lustful desires.  She wants what she wants and she tells Henny that she's grown now to soothe her guilty conscious.  She knew how Henny was going to react.  She knew, even though Henry didn't.

As for Henry, he wants it all.  He wants Vanessa, Henny and this baby.  He wants his family.  Is he going to get it?  I don't know.  He keeps saying he's sorry because he doesn't know what else to say or to do.  He wants it all to come together, but its not happening at all like he hoped.  He thought that Henny and his father talking was a step in the right direction, but now he sees it all slipping away.

He had backed off from Vanessa and was concentrating on working on his relationship with Henny but it was Vanessa who called him and told him that they could began to see each other again because Henny was bonding with Henry.  She knew that she was pregnant and that was the real reason why she told him that, because she was scared.  Henry was going to stay away from her and work on his relationship with Henny.

It is a royal mess for sure.  More is coming and keep those reviews coming to help my muse figure things out.

Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Henrietta's Frustration

Another good chapter!

Will: Was he supposed to be cute or something? Frankly, he came off like a total a$$hole!! Training wheels? Try taking some of that same advice! Being a thirty year old man-whore doesn't make him mature; just easy.

Henny: I'm not sure if I believe that she's as self-centered as all that. Yes, she had her mother to herself, but it has only been the two of them. Clearly, time is not something she's going to continue to have, but I still say its what she needs. As far as Cass goes, unless this kind of thing(Henry and Henny) is something she grew up with herself and can identify with, she should shut it! She doesn't know what she's talking about. Calling Henry 'dad' doesn't make him her father. That's more than a title, its a lifetime of events that he wasn't present for. She will probably grow into it, but why should that mean anything.

Vanessa: She didn't move me much at all. I'm not trying to make her the bad guy, because she was wronged too, but I also dont agree with her trying to make Henny out to be the selfish one either. Henry was the only one who kept saying Henny's feeling mattered. Vanessa kept going on about not being alone anymore. Vanessa wants this and it just seems like whatever she needs to do to get it. I know she loves her daughter, but I'm really not sure her daughter (feelings) matters that much to her right now. Maybe she feels that it shouldn't. However, she's pissed that Henny is kicking up a fuss about it though.

Henry: Again, I still see his feelings in all this. He just wants his whole family, but I just don't think he or Vanessa see that there is a lot Henny has to work through. They're in a bubble becaue they are essentially picking up where they left off, but I'll keep saying its just not so for Henny. She has to catch up to something that she was basically shut out of her whole life.

Yeah...a mess.

Author's Response:

LOL Will is a total a hole, however he wasn't expecting to feel anythng when he kissed her, but he did.  LOL.  Now he still sees her as a bit of a kid, so he won't treat her like the other women he's been involved with.    Her innocense intimidates him.  He's always been around fast and easy women.  Henny is different.  He will handle her with kid gloves which will frustrate Henny to no end.  LOL

Cass, well she's a friend and you're right.  She's on the outside looking in so to speak.  However she and Henny have that type of relationship that they can say whatever to each other and still remain close.  She and Henny love to vent to one another and Henny feels that she can tell Cass anything.

Vanessa just wants Henry and yes, she doesn't like Henny's attitude.  Even though it's not Henny's fault she feels that she had done her duty so to speak as a Mom and Henny needs to grow up.  She doesn't know what to do to appease Henny and she's getting to the point where she doesn't even want to try anymore.

Henry wants what he wants so badly that he's willing to do most anything to make it right.  Time is all that Henny needs, but unfortunately she doesn't have.  She feels that Henry will give up on her once he has this new baby.

Thanks for the continued reviews.

Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Henrietta's Frustration

@Raynee: I'm so with you on your views on Vanessa right now. Henny has been shut out on this big love affair her whole life, and really, she's been on her mother's side against what she has been led to believe was abandonment of her mother in her time of need. And you bring up something I never thought about, which is, does Vanessa blame Henny for this some how? When she talked about them both being lonely spinsters, I thought, well whose fault is that? She made it seem like Henny was why she was lonely. While she was trying to prove that she wasn't like her mother in that she didn't fall apart and end up in an institution, I feel she did fall apart emotionally. She completely shut down to anyone else in that regard, and as you point out, all Henny experienced was Vanessa's hurt and pain in the aftermath of it all. Also, as you point out, she has some explaining to do. Being the adult and mother doesn't excuse her of that. She seems rather upset that Henny is ruining her HEA by calling her out with all these pesky emotions, reactions, and questions. I'm now thinking grandma and Lamont may have a point about Vanessa and her maturity level. Personally, with the lack of information given to Henny, and the short amount of time this all has happened, Henny is basically acting like she's supposed to be.

Author's Response:

As always, I love your reviews.  Vanessa, Vanessa...

She wants what she wants.  She wanted Henry on New Years and had him.  When she realized that she might be pregnant, she ran to Maine knowing that Henry would want to marry her.

She keeps saying to herself that Henny is grown (which she is) because now she wants what she wants and she feels that she's done her duty as a mother.

Ah, but then there are those emotions between her and her daughter that don't follow any timeline.  It was just the two of them for so long and she KNEW that Henny would have a hard time with it, but she had been pineing for Henry so long, that mentally she couldn't deal with anything but regaining what she lost.  She said that she wasn't like her mother, but in a way she is.

Do you remember what happened when she went to visit her mother in the institution?  When her mother realized who Vanessa was, the first thing she asked her was if she'd seen her father.  Vanessa may not be certifiable, but she has some of her mother's tendencies.  LOL

So, where do we go from here?  Well you'll just have to wait for the update, because I havent figured it all out yet.

Thanks again for the wonderful reviews!

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Vanessa's Visit

Hmm...well...ok. I still feel pissed about Henry and his parents treatment on their behalf, but I guess things need to move on. Because Henny looks so much like his mother, Henry's father is suddenly all in now? What about Vanessa? She's still Henny's mother, the one they treated so horribly. I personally think he should apologize to Vanessa, while he's getting to know his granddaughter like its all good. I'm surprised Henny didn't insist on that as well. Whatever positive things he may think and see in Henny, its all due to Vanessa, thank you very much!!

Yes, I know, the title is "Building Bridges." LOL!

Good work!!

Author's Response:

Yes, Henry's father always went along with whatever his wife wanted...until now.  Henry is hesitant to bring Vanessa around and Vanessa is reluctant to go and visit Henry's parents.  But there will be a faceoff in the future.  LOL

Henry's father reached out to Henrietta and she decided to give him a chance, because she gave his son a chance.  She hasn't been won over by either Henry totally.  She wondered from the beginning if her father just wanted to get back with her mother.

Yes, we're building bridges and I will say that Henrietta is still cautious with both father and son.  Will this news be a set back for her?  Well you'll have to wait and see.  LOL

LOL....how weird and awkward was that good-bye? They just spent the night screwing each other's brains out, after not seeing each other for years, and him barely remembering who she was in the first place. Ok...Carey could stand to dial it down a bit. He's a legend in his own mind...geez! I felt like Bianca should have curtsied! Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6

Ya know, someone needs to muzzle that damn Ben! If I didn't know any better, I'd think he had a secret thing for the chocolate! I'm still trying to figure out how people as open, kind, inclusive and loving as George and Barbara could raise a son that was a racist. Especially given the fact that NONE of their other children are. I think Ben got burned by someone years before that he's never mentioned because he "protests" too damn much!

As for Stephanie, she needs to ask Carey about it. He might know something that could help. It takes all sorts, but I don't believe Carey had anything to do with that. And she isn't over it, nor will she probably ever be. She was gang-raped and the only good that came out of it is that she can't really remember all the details. That's horrible.

And I agree with the previous post; why would let your best friend continue to date a man you thought was complicit in your own gang-rape without saying something from the beginning? I wouldn't! If she so chose to continue after what I had to say, then she would be on her own with full knowledge of what she was possibly dealing with. Otherwise, that would make no sense.

LOL....Carey wanted to one-up his brothers! Whatever! This is the chance of a lifetime for Bianca and I hope she enjoys it. The plus side is she gets to spend quality time with her dad. Carey can wait. I would say he could join her, but that would just be distracting to her and what she needed to do. He'll be ok.

Good!

First: I see Ben has always been an ass! He's the one that kissed Melinda first, then he turns around and tries to make it sound like she's not only acting like a cheat, but is trying to turn him into one as well. I don't blame Melinda! I would've given him the long arm too! Then he has the nerve to try it again and tells her to dump her boyfriend in the process. Isn't that what he said he couldn't do? So why should she? Jerk!!

Second: I hadn't realized Ben was that much older than his brothers.

Title: Chapter 3: Love Lockdown

Is Matt implying that Renee used less than honorable methods to get advance in her career? Is he jealous? What's the deal, is there more to it than that? Hmmm..interesting.

Title: Chapter 1: Prologue

Great start! But I wonder how safe it is for Ebony alone like that in these situations, though?

If you put some spaces in between the paragraphs and some of the dialogue, it would be a lot easier to read.

Title: Chapter 5: Four~

I LOVE THIS!!! What a wonderful piece of work! You are fleshing out your characters solidly, have a realistic storyline and bulid-up, and make excellent use of flashbacks. The dialogue and reactions are spot on, and there is a good pace, feel and continuity to the story as a whole.

This is good work!! I'm a new fan!
