Title: Chapter 21: Chapter 21 - Mirror, Mirror

After I had left a review, I remembered getting back into dating after my divorce was difficult--but I did meet a man.  There was no chemistry on my part, but he wanted to try and like Nat I caved and said ok.

Over the weekend  I spoke with my sister and told her about my lack of chemistry with this man, but I did not want to hurt his feelings (I was 38).   My sister told me that she knew I had been out of the dating scene but needed to remember that now I was single, had a home and job, and then she said 'Girl, you got what a lot of women wished they had: OPTIONS'.  The option to say yes or no.

She gave me that kick and I nervously called the man and told him that things were not going to work out.  I still felt bad for hurting him, until he pulled a Jamison and tried to make me feel obligated to try and then he got upset, but I stuck to my guns.

Nat is grown and has OPTIONS--she IS NOT responsible for Jamison happiness.

Author's Response:

I hear ya, Penelope.  And Nat probably would too if she wasn't carrying all that guilt over Anthon and wasn't facing imminent infertility.  She has options, but not a lot of time and courage to exercise them.  We'll see if she can at least work on the courage part next chapter.  Thanks for sharing your insight and your story!

Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22 - Lamb of Sacrifice

Praise the Lawd!  Nat went thru the light!

Rich, for all his crudeness and mischief, is trying to help the two.  Even if Nat doesn't work things out with Anthony, she faced facts and decided to not settle; poor woman was so stressed.

Barb told Jamison everything, but left out Anthony and Nat's relationship, bc then she would've had to tell him Nat has trouble conceiving.  I think Barb knew this would've ran Jamison off (why lead him on to simply keep Ant and Nat apart??).

Nat should tell Genniveve everything about the engagement and apologize for her part in it; Jamison is unable to bc he's on mental lockdown.  Poor Jamison felt a little sorry for him, but you can't make someone love you. I bet he will still tell Nat to work it out anyway, but once she drop the bomb on no babies--she will be talking to the wind).  I don't think he loves her like he should anyway.

Your story is the bomb and keeps getting better and better.  I just love how you wove so much into this chapter and knocked it out the park.  Nat shouldn't be worried about Sabrina since Ant moved so close to stay connected to her; he only had others bc he had to have seen Jamison at her place.

Author's Response:

Rich is a mixed bag.  His moral compass is a bit skewed, so he does bear watching.

Barb called herself doing what was best for her sister.  She left out the Anthony/failed pregnancy story because she knew how scandalous it was and didn't want to run Jamison off.  And yes, a part of her pushing Nat to be with Jamison was to keep Nat away from Anthony.

Lol @ talking to the wind.  I think Jamison has had his fill of Nat.  He does all he can to avoid emotional pain and she has become a huge source of it.  But, you never know.

Nat may or may not be worried about Sabrina.  Now that Ant has seen the engagement ring and believes Nat has truly moved on, he might be ready to take things to the next level with Sabrina.  She's definitely ready for it.  More on that in upcoming chapters.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Penelope!  So glad you enjoyed the chapter.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Cougars

So Rich wants to meet Barb...and he is now divorced.

Barb deserves Rich and Rich deserves Barb and we all know why :-)

Author's Response:

Lol!  Well, Rich is moving to Houston so, despite what Nat says about Barb not being a cheat, you never know.  Thanks Penelope!

Title: Chapter 23: Chapter 23 - In His Shoes

Poor Anthony...Nat has cleaned house, now it's your turn.  You can settle for Sabrina or go get your girl, Nat.

Also apologize to your knucklehead brother Rich and then take him out to lunch, hopefully you two will run into Barb (she can drop the news about the engagement being off).  Ant nevers fights Barb back, but Rich & Barb going at it...WWIII.

Thank you for the update!

Author's Response:

Lol.  Penelope, I can always count on you for a plan.  We'll see if that's how it all goes down.  Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Title: Chapter 24: Chapter 24 - "No Thanks" Giving

This chapter had my emotions all over the place, until the end.  Anthony --too much niceness can be mistaken for weakness.  For a moment I was hoping you would just break, marry the manipulator, and have 19 kids, while dreaming of Nat.  I cam e to my senses and think that Anthony needs to break things off with Sabrina--she loves you knowing you don't love her.

Nat--so glad you were only nice to Richard--please break it off before he runs back to Anthony and brags about getting you back.  Then again maybe that will light a fire under Ant bc then he will know she is no longer engaged.

Richard--so funny; you thought Nat was crying out of happiness of you coming back to her HAHAHHA!!  I bet now you are wondering , well what was she crying about?

Author's Response:

Lol!  Y'all are really getting a kick out of Richard thinking Nat was crying over him.  Whether he tells Anthony about the visit remains to be seen.  But if he does, it's guranteed to garner a reaction.  Most likely a violent one.  And if Anthony's not careful, he's going to guilt his way into a loveless marriage and those nineteen kids you were talking about.  Poor baby.  He needs a hug and Sabrina needs a clue.  Thanks for reading and reviewing, Penelope!

Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - While the Cat's Away...

Well, since Ant  is still engaged and lacking courage to take another chance and go for what he really wants, he should marry Sabrina and take her to all the happy family functions and be miserable.

Nat is coming into her own, but it will take time.

Maybe once Rich sobers up, he will do some good for once in his life and get these two together.

If I was Nat, I would put him on the sofa, cover him up, and lock my bedroom door until the next morning;don't even bother calling Ant, bc Rich sure didn't go there, did he?  No way would Jr spend another night there.  Funny if she took him with her to the family get together.

Author's Response:

Nat is slowly coming into her own.  And if Anthony wants her, he better step up.  Absence can harden the heart just as easily as it makes it grow fonder.

LOL @ throwing a blanket over Rich and locking her door.  That's probably what she should do, but will she?  Like someone else pointed out, these Talerico men are charmers.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Penelope!

Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - While the Cat's Away...

Suddenly, I feel the need to take up for Ant--it's hard, though :-/

Ant may be young in years but he is really an old soul and he is ultra-sensitive where Nat is concerned--ask Rich :-).  All Ant wants is a sign from Nat that he has a chance with her.

Ant has never been sure of where he stood with Nat.  He misread her thinking she wanted him, when she really wanted to use him to hit back at her ex (his dad), he stands by her thinking there would be a child, he falls for her but leaves when asked to--these two have never really been honest with one another, bc if Nat had asked Ant to stay he would have and vice versa.

Ant needs to let Sabrina go because he knows he is using her.  She will cry, she may even throw down the baby card, hell I wouldn't be surprised if she tells him she was only with him bc his dad paid her.  He needs to cut this crutch loose and knows it.

Until Ant tells Nat why he did not tell his family about her and does tell them, I am afraid Ant will never be the man Nat needs.

Author's Response:

I have to agree with your take on Anthony and his insecurity and sensitivity when it comes to Natalia.  He has a hard time believing she truly feels he's worthy of her, and things that have gone on between them have inadvertently validated that fear.  That's a lot for a twenty-six year old guy to deal with on top of juggling a new career and grief.  We'll see if he can persevere.  Thanks for taking up for our boy!  He needs all the help he can get.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Cougars

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  I had to do breathing exercises before reading this chapter.

You did an awesome job and I hope you do an epilogue, but I can live without one.  Please tell me you are going to give Barb what she deserves--a Richard Jr.  :-)

Author's Response:

Lol.  I'm not sure I'll do an epilogue or if Barb will get her a Richard Jr., but the end is still a ways off.  Stay tuned...  Thanks for reading and reviewig, Penelope!

Please, please let them be pregnant.  That baby will be the only thing to knock Sabrina off her block and these two deserve a kid to balance out the Rich Jr effect.

Title: Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - The End of Ignorance and Bliss

Omg!  So not was papa Rich a rolling stone, but  so was Anthony's mom.

Rich Sr is such an evil, hateful man and he made Ant's younger days unbearable. Now we know why he is so mean to Ant--he took his anger out on an unsuspecting child that was not his, such a coward.  I am so glad Ant stood up to him and didn't tell him about the baby she is carrying.

Nat should give Ant this new info and any guilt he is feeling will evaporate.  Ant mom can't say anything to Nat about her relationship with her son or the ex.

Author's Response:

I don't know if it'll be quite that easy, but the truth will certainly change some relationship dynamics.  Thanks Penelope!

Title: Chapter 31: Chapter 31 - Can You Keep a Secret?

dirt nap---Rich is funny.

Nat shouldn't worry about Ant finding out he is not Sr's son, because Ant will not be hurt and may want to throw a party like it's New Years Eve in Times Square.

Nat really don't give a damn about Sr anymore and her tone is what did him in.  Am I the only one thinking Sr is so high strung and aggressive that he is either going to hit someone or have a heart attack?

Author's Response:

Anthony isn't fond of Richard, but he's still deeply affected by him, no matter how much he tries to hide and deny it.  So I doubt there'll be any party throwing when he finds out the truth, something Nat seems to realize.

Richard is very capable of exploding.  The only question is will he?  Thanks Penelope!

Title: Chapter 32: Chapter 32 - Friends and Foes

So proud of Nat for being calm around Barb and really not giving a damn.  Ant loves him some Nat, but will be very hurt if she don't tell him about that sorry azz Richard not being his daddy.

I love the banter between Takara and Rich--these two belong together, bc Barb's sour conniving deposition would make Rich literally throw up.

Author's Response:

Nat is pretty much over Barbara.  She has bigger fish to fry, like breaking the news to Anthony about his father and hoping it doesn't break them.

Takara and Rich are a therapist appointment/police report waiting to happen.  I thoroughly enjoyed writing their interaction.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, Penelope!

Title: Chapter 35: Chapter 35 - If I Can't Have You...

Richard, Richard, Richard...if you were my son I would whup that azz every day, just because,

There is no way Ant or RIch will let this go; they should both feel guilty, too, bc they knew nutty Richard was waiting in the wings.

Nat did the right thing by getting out of there and she should never let her child go near that nest of vipers.

Awesome update!

Title: Chapter 37: Chapter 37 - The Cruelties of Fate

Ant will forgive RIch bc he is his brother, blood or not. I hope he can find out if his father is still alive and at least he can take some comfort that the man did everything he could to get him, until Richard had him deported.

Why did Rich Sr choose to keep a boy that he knew was not his?  Why not give him to a man who wanted him; Mercedes would have chosen Sr over her son, even then?

Author's Response:

The fate of Ant's father is iffy.  His sudden and extended silence doesn't bode well for him being found alive or at all.

Richard chose to keep Ant from David because if he'd allowed them to have a relationship, then he would have had to admit to the world and his judgmental, unforgiving family that the woman he broke up in his marriage and family over had a baby for another man.  And Richard undoubtedly wanted to punish the man his wife cheated with.  It's all about ego and revenge with Richard.  Nat can attest to that.

Thanks Penelope!

Title: Chapter 40: Epilogue

Oh dear Lord this was fantastic!!  Can we have a small wedding?

I am sure everyone reading this wish we could bend Richard and Mercedes over and give each a good, hard kick.

Author's Response:

Lol.  You will get to see the wedding (and all the drama that comes with it) in Rich's story.  Thanks Penelope!

We don't need to read about their coming together, we already know Eshan threw down and took Joss to bliss heaven; just as we know his father may never forgive his mother for her behavior--I stil would not let my kids be with her alone.  Guess Hassan's wife didn't want to be on her bad side when she gave the mother the knife.    Thank you for sharing a very beautiful story.

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Maybe this will spur Joss to have some backbone where this evil woman is concerned.  I think she should quietly, but firmly rip her apart, marry her manand keep their kids away from her,for their safety.  The woman is just mean, evil and an embarassment to her family.   J can repair her relationship with Pearl, but those two mothers will never, ever get along--she called her daughters hoes, oh hell nah.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1

I want them to be together, but Joss is right: E. will come to resent their marriage and eventually her--there will always be a sadness around him.  When a man disrespects his mother, even if she brought it on herself, the son usually feels guilty and will do whatever they can to get back into mom's good graces.

This woman has a problem and is not a good wife, mother, or grandmother.  I  think Joss should give the ring back and back off.  E will never marry the intended bc he and she knows he does not love her and never will.

As one comment stated: ...the mom's husband should divorce her. and I agree---E's father has been in love with a mirage and now the scales have been removed from his eyes.

Joss needs Pearl now, but I would just take a trip to get my mind straight and grieve privately---don't count on the selfish sister for advice.

E. will apologize to his family, but he will never forgive his mother and she will only have the memories of the son he once was.

keep the grandkids from her because granny is showing her ass (true colors)---so easy for her to use her 'love' and affection as a guilt trip--I would never trust her again.

Author's Response:

Thanks for sharing your insight, Penelope, and for reading and reviewing.  I think that most would agree Mrs. Kourosh isn't showing herself deserving of a man as kind and considerate as Mr. Kourosh.  Whether that will lead to a divorce is another matter.  From my understanding, divorce isn't something Iranians do often or take lightly.  And it seems that with the exception of the nasty things Mrs. Kourosh has said to Joss and her mother, her bad behavoir isn't all that surprising to any member of her family.
