Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22 - The Friend of My Lover Ain't My Friend

Congrats on your new job and may your move go smoothly...I hate moving as the upheaval of your life can be quite stressful...so praying for an easy and minimally stressful move for you...I didn't get your email...bummer...and I wonder that you didn't get mine with the link to the beautiful picture of Josh Mario John (beautiful tattooed man)...

I get what you are saying since boxers are a bully breed (one of many)...but when I read that "Kelly breeds Bullies", I automatically consider it means American Bullies as in the specific breed, especially since this breed is quite popular in Texas and are referenced primarily as Bullies...in fact, I know a breeder in Texas that raises beautiful American Bullies, but we only refer to them as Bullies...my bad...though boxers are a bully breed, and not a week passes that I don't treat a boxer in veterinary practice, virtually no one refers to them as bullies...hence my confusion...my apologies...looking forward to your updates whenever they come...as long as you eventually put me out of my misery and post an update...this story is my absolute favorite for the reasons I stated...be blessed...

Author's Response:

Thanks for the congrats and the prayers.  The worst part of the moving process (the packing) is already done...well, almost.  But I'll take all the prayers I can get.

I didn't get your email, I'm sorry to say, but did give ole Johnny boy a Google gander.  And yes, he is deliciously made.

As for the bullies, I heard some sort of animal specialist on Animal Planet call bully breeds "bullies," looked it up online, and referenced accordingly.  I know little to nothing about veterinary medicine, dog breeding, and whether they use the same distinctions, and certainly wasn't trying to question your professional knowledge.  If it came of that way, I do apologize.  You clearly know your stuff from multiple angles.  Just trying to explain where I got "bullies" from.

Thanks for the blessings.  Sending the same to you.

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14 - Fallen Angels

This date night started out so good but went from bad to worse...Brandon, baby, you lost so many cool points...he so didn't want Diya to see him like that way...he is hiding so much anger and pain that seems rooted in his family...Brandon is the son that got both parents while Tyler is the son that lost the opportunity for a two parent family...is there a long standing and deep seated resentment between brothers rooted in Brandon having what Tyler longed to have...at least that's how I see it...the hatred between the brothers is palpable and poor Diya really witnessed it first hand...Brandon has a dark side that he didn't want her to see...he didn't want her to judge and she hasn't but he went beyond shutting her out in his anger...wow...when you said it would get a lot worse before it got better, you weren't kidding...but where does that leave Diya...does she try to get Brandon to open up after a cool down period...does she let him go and can she really since she is in love with him...what will Brandon do once he has cooled down...will he apologize and more importantly will he open up to her...if he doesn't open up then it's hard to see if his relationship with Diya can survive...as of now, Diya is really all alone...but it can't be over yet...like I said, JJ, you are amazing at doing angst...I cried for Diya and felt her hurt...you are such an amazing talent and I can't wait to read more...you just get me all invested in these characters that I root for them to be happy, I feel their pain...brilliant...just brilliant...if I could give you three 10 star votes, I would...you rock...

Author's Response:

Aw, thanks jahchannah!!!  You are far too kind, and insightful : )  You're right, Brandon and Tyler's issues run deep and Brandon didn't want Diya anywhere near them.  In the process of trying to "create some distance," he did and said things he can't take back.  How they deal with that and all answers to your questions will be addressed in the near future.  Thanks again!

Title: Chapter 19: Chapter 19 - Rite of Possession

I forgot to give you a BIG THANK YOU for fulfilling my wish in this chapter...in chapter 18 Brandon, though admitting his love for her, hadn't said those three precious words outright to Diya...having him proclaim his love for her so clearly and strongly as they consummated their relationship in this chapter so made up for those missed words in chapter 18...so many stories write of "making love" or sex but the focus often seems to be so much on the physical and less on the heart, soul and spirit connecting...for your work here, it's clear to see that the emotional and spiritual bond formed between our lovely couple was at the forefront to solidfy the purpose of plysically coupling...Brandon and Diya were confirming physically what their hearts, minds and souls had admitted verbally...it's that current running so strongly through this chapter that makes this work a phenomenal piece of romantic literature, for me...I just can't praise you enough and soooo look forward to more of Brandon and Diya's story...

Title: Chapter 17: Chapter 17 - Undone

Two brilliant chapters, Ms Jax!  I love it!  Thank you so much for the Valentines Day gift!  I laughed until I cried at Chandi in chapter 16..that heffa is too much...but as I wrote previously, you have quite the knack for comedy...in chapter 17 we meet Brandon's motley crew who are great...we see Diya so comfortable with his friends/employees...but on one level they seem like family too...it speaks volumes to how different she is from her family...in chapter 16, I am sorry that Chandi's introduction to our Bran filled him with more guilt because Diya definitely thought Chandi got what was coming to her...I loved Chandi's name for Brandon, Branaconda...clearly she at least understood Diya's attraction to Branny on the physical plane, it seems...she was checking out Diya's man and our girl wasn't feeling it...if his run-in with Chandi is any indication, Diya will have a hard time getting Brandon to accept her feelings as her family plays up his past to only enhance his self loathing...from both these chapters I surmise that Diya is what our boy needs...someone who loves him and sees him for who he truly is...I love seeing how in awe she is of him as she watches him engaged in his craft...you bring her feelings to life on these pages...beautifully written...her fangirling over Brandon's art...their responses to each other in front of Brandon's client who even noticed they both are whipped...that's romance...you write about soul strengthening true love...I love this book so much...just genius...So I am so excited to see the future chapters because I expect major angst when Papa De la Roy gets wind of Brandon...lots of angst and drama mixed with heartbreak, I can guess...still, I know those chapters are going to be a hoot...you are soooo wonderful to gift my request...I luvvvv U!!!....Thanks again!

Author's Response:

My pleasure, jahchannah : )  You have been an amazing source of unwavering support and insight.  I was more than happy (and flattered) to put fingers to keyboard and make your Valentines Day wish come true.

I'm glad you enjoyed meeting Brandon's crew.  They'll play a continuing role in the plot, some more than others.  And so will Chandi, God love her.  She might not be all-in on the idea of Branaconda, but she's yet to meet a big d*ck that couldn't sway her.  So we'll see...

I'm so happy you caught a few feels from Brandon's and Diya's little moment of awe/aw.  I love writing those sort of exchanges.  There will be a few more before the bottom falls out, as it is destined to do once William finds out who's been occupying all of his baby girl's time.  For that, I don't think any of them are ready.

Stay tuned, and thanks for the fantastic review!!!  I appreciate it and you so very much.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, JOELLE JAX! YOU ROCK!!!  I was hollering at stupid Chandi!  Your written sarcasm and comedic wit are perfect! I am just fangirling over here...OK...I'm calm now and off to read the next chapter.

Wow...that was the most amazing scene of true passion, love and intimacy I have ever had the pleasure to read...that was two souls, two spirits cementing their link and meshing to truly become one...that was sublime...I just can't find the words to do justice to what you have just done with words, Ms Jax except to say I have never been compelled to cry when reading of two souls connecting for the first time...you are beyond amazing...you are truly an incredibly gifted and highly talented author...my absolute favorite and I can't shower you with enough praise but I thank the Most High for  your willingness to bless us with your gifts...much love to you...I want to give you all the stars and the moon!

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Date Night, First Fight (Revised)

When I think about it...Diya wincing under Brandon's fisted grip upon seeing their visitor makes me think it's not Marisol (seeing a woman as petite as Marisol shouldn't provoke such a reaction, I would think)...you know how to keep me coming back which is testimony to your gift with the pen, JJ...

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Date Night, First Fight (Revised)

BRILLIANT...BRILLIANT...BRILLIANT...this chapter/this book has so many layers...it's more than romance, it's the main character's spiritual growth...learning who she really is (at least to me)...Their first fight was needed for them to clear the space between them...Brandon called Diya out on her feelings...she can't hide from him...just shows how connected they truly are...being with Brandon brings her out of her comfort zone in so many ways and as a result we see Diya changing, growing...her deal with the Most High is about her spiritual growth as much as it is about not being alone...she has to grow to the point spiritually that she can handle true love and it's happening...they can't consummate their relationship until they reach the point of admitting their feelings to really make the ultimate love connection...it won't feel right otherwise...all these obstacles are for Diya's growth to show her who she is in her weaknesses and strengths...Brandon does that for her as a true mate...chica is definitely strong to overcome an attacker...and Brandon is so sexy to seek to avenge his woman though he could have toned down the caveman antics a bit...at least he was sorry...he's perfect for Diya because he knows who he is and just wants Diya even if he has to go through obstacles to have her...she's worth it to him...family like Diya's...I can relate to being different...they will love her and accept her but they may not ever really understand her (I know firsthand of that type of family) but Diya has to trust the Most High that her letting go of the need for her family's absolute approval is what she needs to really be who she is...who's the co*k blocker...seems like Marisol...I realized last chapter that she was actually 21 to Brandon's 17 when they kissed...so Marisol was an adult actually...hmmm...I'm starting to give her the side eye but Brandon doesn't want Marisol...he's had to much opportunity to have her...still can Diya overcome her fears and trust Brandon (even trust herself) to protect their relationship in the face of Marisol's onslaught of neediness is another question...sorry for the long review and there is more I can say...but I will end with a tremendous thank you for providing me with immense reading pleasure...blessings to you JJ...

Author's Response:

Aw, thanks jahchannah!!!  Blessings to you, too.  And you don't ever have to apologize for the length of your reviews.  I enjoy reading your insight.  As always, it's spot on.

Being with Brandon is forcing Diya to look at herself and her relationship with her family through different eyes.  She is learning who she is, and that no one else, save Brandon, knows or even truly cares to.  That's huge for someone who's felt like an outsider their entire life.  He has his faults, but even those are rooted in something good and/or noble.  Unfortunately, he sometimes struggles to realize it.

I'm with you on being a bit of a black sheep.  I'm the puzzle no one can figure out.  Even when they think they have, they've usually gotten it wrong.  The difference between me and Diya is I no longer worry about being understood or accepted.  My mama gets me...probably because she's the exact same brand of crazy : )  And it seems Diya's found her kindred spirit in Brandon, and might finally be able to put her relationship with her family into perspective.  That's if Marisol's ongoing involvement in Brandon's life doesn't become a serious distraction.  More one that in future chapters.

Thanks again!

Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Divide and Conquer

I love reading Diya's thoughts!  She is hysterical in her view of her life and surroundings and you are brilliant to write comedy.  Honestly, I was truly LOL while reading.  Her relationship with Brandon is precious but I sense angst will come in the form of Marisol because Brandon is blind to her "crush" among other potential obstacles yet to be revealed.  But the beginnings of love are so beautiful and here are beautifully written.  You rock...

Author's Response:

You may be right about Marisol.  She cares a lot about Brandon; in what way remains to be seen.  As for the other obstacles, you know they're coming.  But hopefully I'll be able to deliver a few more laughs and romantic moments before we go there.  Thanks Jahchannah!

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - The Spoils of War

Poor Diya, just feels like she can't win..I just hope it's not true...I don't think it's true, but circumstances skew perception...Diya's a good girl that Brandon wants to keep out of the mess...but for Diya looking at her man with Marisol, perception is everything...you are so generous right now and amazing...

Author's Response:

Thanks Jahchannah!  Perception is everythinig.  Slowly but surely, we'll see if Diya's is right and what having it might cost her.

Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - T.M.I. (Revised)

Brilliant!  I didn't expect Brandon's story to be so full of pain...Diya didn't either, I'm guessing...be careful what you ask as you might not like what you receive...I liked Brandon's response to Diya's answer about Marisol...she knows Brandon, which is most important...she has to trust him...and he has to trust her too when she says not telling her family about their relationship is not about not wanting a future with him...this relationship will challenge them both...let's see if they're up for it...excellent work as always...you so make me root for this couple!

Author's Response:

I think Diya has definitely learned that whole "be careful what you ask for" lesson, though I can't say I blame her for being curious.  And I agree that both have to learn to trust each other.  With his romantic history and her lack thereof, that will prove an uphill battle.  Thanks Jahchannah!

Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - Missing Pieces

Wow, sooooo amazing with the storytelling skills Ms Jax!  Diya is in love with Brandon, so her response to his confession, though seeming irrational, makes sense. Someone before her stomped his heart, so is he willing to give it to Diya, now? I think Diya is one to help mend his heart; she adores Brandon, and I bet he has no idea how much...the fun is in finding out...I think Grandpa may be deranged in some way? Brandon seemed adamant Diya not meet him...and I wonder that Tyler is the "other guy" for whom Brandon's love fell pregnant...I think Brandon's mom likes Diya...maybe she sees that Diya is good for Brandon...to me Diya and Brandon match, strangely enough...ths story has me hooked...you rock!

Author's Response:

Great insight, Jahchannah.  Diya is new to love and the level of heartache Brandon has experienced.  Both frighten and intimidate her and leave her wondering the very same thing you are:  Is he willing to give his heart to her, or does a part of it still belong to the girl from the tattoo?  Answers to that question, what's the deal with Grandpa Warner, and what exactly were Tyler's past dirty deeds are coming up in future chapters.  I can say that you're right about why Katherine likes Diya.  She knows that Diya makes Brandon happy, and his happiness is all that matters to her.

Thanks for the wonderful review, for reading, and for reviewing!  I really do appreciate it.

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - Slippery When Wet

This story keeps getting better...Diya watching Brandon was like "whoa" and when she got caught, Brandon's response was perfect and so unexpected...it only sent Diya over the edge...wow, romanctic voyeurism...they so want each other but Diya is right to adhere to her 2 month commitment as there are other issues that should be sorted before our lovely couple takes that step...Diya doesn't think Brandon is in love but I suspect he is or is definitely close...when she said her dad is the only person in the world who sees her as "perfect" Brandon responded "he's not the only one", sounds like love to me...but they have hurdles to cross before either of them can make that verbal confession...Diya lying to her dad about their relationship understandably bothers Brandon since he just took her home to meet his parents...he's not in love yet he doesn't hide Diya...she's in love and she hides Brandon...hmm...I agree with Brandon that she can know more about his backstory once she is more willing to reciprocate as it's got to happen at some point if the relationship is going to work...you are amazing as you manage to keep me engaged with the right amount of comedy, romance and angst...brilliant and I love it!

Author's Response:

Thanks Jahchannah!!!  Great insight.  I agree that some things need to be sorted out before sex is added to the equation.  Both Brandon and Diya need to figure out exactly what it is they feel (even if we already sort of know) and how to express it--tasks that won't be easy for either of them, especially with Diya's refusal to introduce Brandon to her parents and, now, his ultimatum.  The whys of both will become increasing clear as the story progresses.  Stay tuned, and thanks for reading and reviewing!

Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 - Misfortune Tellers

I'm so happy that you updated!  Thank you for contiuning to bless us with your talents!  This chapter was too funny!  Talk about a meddling father that is desperate to get his daughter a husband...what's up with that and how does Diya tolerate it...I wouldn't/couldn't but that's just me...that kind of behavior from parents is only a disaster waiting to happen...her father has lived his life and should let his daughter live hers...I think Brandon wanting to meet Diya's parents is about having her reveal to him where her heart and commitment to him really lay...I don't think he cares about how her parents will view him as long as Diya is with him but he knows she loves her parents so hiding him from them is a barrier to her love for him...he wants to know that she will choose him because that seems to be a possible issue for him...his first love chose someone else (maybe his brother) over Brandon...but that's just my view...Diya should be honest with Brandon to let him know that her parents may not be so accepting of their relationship...but has she really considered what that means to her...and Brandon has issues...I am wondering what they are but I still think his insistence that he meet her family and the problems with his first love are about his being accepted in  her life...I can't wait to see if I am wrong because speculating is fun! This story is my favorite!

Author's Response:

Thanks Jahchannah!!!  You really did make my day with this.

First off, fabulous character insight!  William goes way overboard with his meddling.  Diya puts up with it because, as dysfunctional as it is, it comes from a place of deep love--something she lacks in her other relationships.  More on that later.  As for Brandon's reasoning behind wanting to meet her parents, you did such a superb job dissecting it, I have absolutely nothing useful to add (nor do I want to inadvertently drop a spoiler).  Their issues, unfortunately, don't end there.  More on that coming up, as well.

Thanks again for the awesome review, Jahchannah!  I truly do appreciate it and look forward to reading you comments as the story unfolds.

Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 - Kiss and Telltale

Thank you for blessing us with two updates!  Of course, you leave us with a cliffhanger but I still love it!  Brandon's response to learning that Diya told Chandi about him only solidified my ideas behind his reasons for meeting her family...unfortunately, Diya hasn't revealed the De la Roy's special kind of crazy so Brandon still can't get it...the man's a keeper as revealed by his response to Diya's capitulating to his desire to consummate their relationship...he's still so willing to wait until it's right for them both...so Diya shouldn't be jealous of Marisol because as far as I can see Brandon has had plenty of time to ride that train, yet everyone in Brandon's circle seems to know that Diya is his favorite girl...hopefully Marisol's attack won't cause any problems between Brandon and Diya but Brandon will surely be more focused on Marisol in the aftermath...Diya has to trust what she has with Brandon which could be hard if Diya gets in her feelings since his history with Marisol is longer and the tie is strong because she is Rafe's sister...I think Diya and Brandon both are struggling to trust what they have with each other and are, thus, being guarded with their feelings...I feel some good angst coming and you do it quite well so I'm excited to see what's coming...I'm along for the whole ride!

Author's Response:

You're absolutely right. Diya seems to be the only person who's unsure about her place in Brandon's life.  A part of that is her realizing that Marisol has never had to share Brandon, not really.  The others before Diya were on-hitter-quitters.  How Marisol responds to something serious, whether she's doing so as a friend or a rival, remains to be seen.

Both Brandon and Diya operate in fear when it comes to the relationship.  The question is, how wil they get over that, especially with Marisol and all their family-related issues looming in the background.  We shall see.  Thanks for the insightful review, Jahchannah!!!

P.S.  I didn't leave you hanging too long.  Update posted.

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - Night Light

That Brandon has me swooning...this conversation was much needed because their relationship, any relationship, comes down to their commitment to making it work...I'm so glad Brandon asked Diya for honesty...and Diya is so cute that Branny has her whipped...he is amazed that she totally adores him...they adore each other...beautifully written emotional honesty and emotional intimacy...love this couple learning each other...Brandon accepts Diya for who she is...he helps her feel safe...can't wait for more...

Author's Response:

Thanks Jahchannah!  This couple has A LOT of ground to cover in the unspoken-truths department, but this was a good start.  They're both realizing how much they care for one another, which is good, because they're going to need that connection to survive the days ahead.  Stay tuned...

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - First Date Redux

Oh, I must love this story since I think about it during your hiatus...but I caught this when I first read it, but didn't bring it up, yet I can't let it go...Brandon in this chapter tells Diya he and Marisol kissed while drunk when he was 17...in chapter 5 he tells Diya that he met his love (who got pregnant by another guy) when he was 16, realized he was in love at 17 and had his heart broken after his 18th birthday...yet he made out with Marisol at 17, which suggests an overlap in the relationships...so how does Marisol play into the failure of his first love relationship or does she...the timeline causes me to suspect something but maybe I'm seeing too much...like I said, I had this thought when 1st reading chapter 9 but didn't go there...still I can't seem to let it go, so I seek clarification... sorry to bug you during your hiatus and I hope the time away only strengthens your muse!

Author's Response:

You're not bugging me.  I'm taking a break from posting, but I'm more than happy to respond to reviews.

You have a GREAT eye.  I can't say much without risking dropping a spoiler or two, but I will say that there was definitely a cause-and-effect set of circumstances surrounding Brandon and Marisol's kiss--one that will affect his and Diya's relationship, and not for the better.  Thanks for bringing that up.  It plays a major part in how the story progresses and, thankfully, I'm finally making some progress with it.

Thanks for all your support and encouragement, Jachannah.  It is infinitely appreciated.

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12 - On the Outside

Oh that was heartbreaking...JJ you had to come back with the drama and I love you for it...poor Diya with a family who refuses to try to understand her while she feels like she is fighting to hold onto the man she loves against a woman who has been a long term fixture in his life...At this point Diya needs to do some soul searching and learn to live for her truth that she loves Brandon and his phenotype has no bearing on the feelings they share...but she's not confident in his feelings for her which makes it difficult to trust telling her family and dealing with the fallout...she needs to be sure her relationship with Brandon will work before she takes such a big step to face the harsh judgment of her family...I wished Diya would really listen to Brandon and realize he has had ample opportunity to be with Marisol if he wanted her...he wants Diya but doesn't know how to ask Marisol to step back especially since she so conveniently seems to need him...Diya needs to ask Brandon to draw a line because phone calls are not necessary to Marisol's protection...I am so happy you updated...I love this couple and story so much and am excited to see how they weather the storms that will come at them...you are so awesome..,Happy New Year and welcome back...I pray your muse continues so that you are able to continue blessing us...thank you!

Author's Response:

JACHANNAH!!!  You can't feel it right now, but I'm giving you a cyber hug (in a totally none creepy way : )

Anyhoo, I agree.  Diya really is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to both Brandon and her family and his relationship with Marisol.  Add to that insecurity and suspicion, and things are bound to go badly.  More on that as the story continues.

Thanks for the well wishes and wonderful insight!  Both are greatly appreciated.

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - The Cause (Revised)

You never cease to amaze me with your talent, JJ...I gleaned that grandpa seemed to have racist ties and Tyler made his leanings clear, but I was blown away by Brandon's confession...he was young and dumb, a child, but he has clearly changed...I felt his anguish as he relayed his tale to Diya...her confession of love seemed hard to accept in light of what he had yet to reveal...but our girl has a heart full of love and forgiveness...how could she not accept a true show of repentance by her bearded beau...so beautifully written, the frustration, the angst, the hopelessness, the fear, the LOVE...the road ahead for our lovers will be tough...the race is not given to the swift but to those who endure...thank you so much for blessing us with the gift of your writings...be blessed...

Author's Response:

Thank YOU, jahchannah, for sharing your wonderful insight and for this awesome review!!!  You are absolutely right:  Brandon's not in a place where he can accept Diya's love.  Of course, Diya being Diya, she'll assume the worst.  The uestion is, how right is she and will she be able to endure without his "I love you"?

This story sends my heart fluttering...this chapter was so magnificently beautiful in its expression of the deep and abiding love that is developing between Brandon and Diya...it doesn't take consummation in the physical to show romantic love as you write it with intimate gestures and words between these characters...Diya trusting her body to Brandon in giving her a tattoo spoke volumes of her love for him...he finally is accepting it, which will be needed for the days ahead...Brandon choosing the moon in the place he did for Diya spoke volumes to how much he understands and truly loves her...it was awesome to read him finally acknowledge his love and commitment to Diya...btw I love tattoos when the art is beautfully done so I don't see Diya as marring her body...maybe that's because I have tattoos myself and I love them...for me they are an expression of self as the tattoo for Diya does the same...I am just so fangirling over here because you never, ever cease to amaze me with your writing...I just can't find the words to express how truly gifted I find you to be as a writer...now I still would love to read some passion between this beautiful couple because Brandon finally claiming Diya as his has got to be so intense...can't wait so I hope I am not deprived of that joy at some point (maybe soon you'll gift us!)...you are so gifted, talented and amazing Ms Jax to give the feels you do through your works...be blessed...I give you 10,000 stars for this one!

Oh jahchannah, your reviews always make my heart so happy : )

Though I don't have any tattoos of my own, I love the look of them and hearing the stories behind them.  I've always wanted one but, like Diya, could never figure out what to get.  Maybe someday it'll come to me.

I'm thrilled you enjoyed the chapter and Brandon's and Diya's demonstrations of love.  Like you said, faith in that love is what these two are going to need if they hope to survive the trials ahead.  But before we get to all that, love expressed must now be made ; )

Thank you SO much for your kind words, insight, and continued support, jahchannah!  I am truly grateful for you and it.

Title: Chapter 20: Chapter 20 - Honeymoon's Over

I was thinking about you and this update appeared...I feel so blessed...LMAO...that's what I did with this chapter...Brandon is so adorable not wanting his nookie fest with Diya to end...I loved it...and especially the statement about the quack doctor...but why would an honorable lawyer trust a quack with his daughter's health...strange man Daddy De La Roy, but it's part of his charm...still, I think her father is too intrusive but hey that's just me...I'm fiercely independent...still I think it's time Diya stand up for herself and walk in the truth of who she is and who she loves...Diya also needs to trust Brandon's love for her...he told her he belongs to her, all of him, and all of her belongs to him...so I don't think the tom-fuckery as you state it, of her family will honestsly change that though I do understand Diya's fear...she's not confident Brandon will tolerate the more than asinine behavior he will have to endure from the De La Roys...still I think Diya should stand up for her right to live her life as she sees fit...I have a feeling Daddy De La Roy is about to learn what his baby girl has been doing with herself...all 6 foot something, long haired, bearded and tattooed beauty that has captured her heart...I just love this book so much...thank you for the comedic relief...I love the breadth of your talent...you amaze me and I so appreciate you sharing your gift...

Jahchannah, your reviews never fail to make my day : )

William is a strange man, but not one who necessarily trusts Diya to the Not-So Good Doctor.  He was bring Uncle Elgin over to see his precious baby girl because the man insisted.  And time has come for Diya to stand up to her family, tell the truth, and trust that she and Brandon can weather the ensuing storm.  Question is, can they?

Thanks for the wonderful review, jahchannah!!!  It is very much appreciated.

Title: Chapter 21: Chapter 21 - Surprise, Surprise

BRAVO...I was crying with laughter reading this installment...your flair for comedy is perfection...then to switch directly into drama...your creative genius really comes to complete and full life here...I so applaud and am in awe of you...I just can't give you enough praise...I knew Brandon was going to surprise her although you did surprise me with Mannie being her guest from the cliffhanger...I so love how you segwayed Brandon's surprise visit into the surprise that was Mannie...and Brandon disguising himself as the delivery guy was pure genius...I can't wait to read of them fulfilling their signed agreement...another LOL moment was when Diya confessed her iced-coochie to Brandon...that's real love...and so funny...only a cray, cray woman would think to write such stuff...love your kind of cray…

That sneaky Brandon is so perfect...I am so fangirling over you, Ms Jax...I loved Diya's response to Brandon when William was approaching...she knew that if she tried to hide him, she would do severe damage to their relationship, so asking him for a kiss that her father would clearly see, showed Brandon that Diya truly loves him and is not ashamed of him...and his response to just kiss her hand shows that he truly loves her and didn't want meeting her father as Diya's boyfriend the first time to start off a firestorm for her...I so love this couple...you are remarkable to create characters that feel so real to me...I knew William would find out...but Diya standing up for herself, I loved...And Brandon's note "as long as you come back to me" had me swooning...just beyond brilliant...Ok as for updating...to be honest, I really, really, really look forward to updates and tend to reread chapters during the wait...I find all sorts of goodies in doing so...I'm spoiled with getting updates, as you write because this story is brilliant and I am too excited to read more...that said, I will always read your work whenever you post...I support any approach you decide to take on finishing the story  as long as you bless me with more of their journey...I am always so excited to read your updates...you made my week with two chapters...I so appreciate you sharing your gift with us...may you continue to be blessed...

Author's Response:

Thanks SO very much for the well wishes and this awesome review!!!  As always, your insight is so on point.  Diya's request for a kiss and Brandon's response said what both needed to hear:  That she wasn't ashamed and he understood that and wouldn't force her into making introductions before she was truly ready.  The note was the icing on the cake, and a reminder that, despite his teasing, Brandon understood Diya's need to leave,, and loved her.  Understanding and love are two things they're both going to need going forward, as William won't take his new discovery lying down.  More on that next chapter.

Thanks again for your input and your support, jahchannah.  I can't express how deeply I appreciate both : )

Title: Chapter 21: Chapter 21 - Surprise, Surprise

I love this story so much that I was reading it again and remembered something...in chapter 2 when Diya refrained from giving birthday nookie to her Branny, she offered to make it up to him by giving him at a later date a night of sexual pleasure in the place and position of his choosing...in this last chapter Brandon's getting Diya's signature to submit to a night of sexual play of his choosing is finally taking her up on that former offer...I can't wait to see how this plays out but it's gonna be hot, hot, hot!!!...I love this story and how you bring these little things full circle...if I wasn't paying close attention, I'd miss these fun little tidbits...so excited for the next update whenever it comes!!!

Author's Response:

As always, you have an amazing eye for detail, jachannah.  I've got quite a few seeds planted throughout the story that have yet to flower (see the next couple chapters), which was why I thought about waiting until the story was complete to post.  But the way I figure it, I'll post when I can and readers can decide their own pace.

The "fullfillment of contract" chapter is on its way.  The next chapter, on the other hand, is already here.  Enjoy : )

Thanks for the fabu review, jachannah, and for your continued support!  It means so very much to me = D
