Just discovered this story and fallen hard for it, gotta tell you.
Sad that Yuki had to miss Shouda's first seven years but hopefully the future will be bright for son and father, unless Yuki's mother messes things up too bad. That chic...wow!
Can help but feel so sorry for his wife. Such a sad position for her to be barren AND a step-son out of the blue...
Looking forward to the continuation of the drama sure to ensue.

Shouda s a great kid. Sara has done very well raising him. He wouldn't be garnering so much attention, been heir-appaarent to anything if Yuri's wife could have children. Yuri's mother is a bullying snob. I'd run to the hills away from the woman.

WOW! I really like this story. It quietly packs a PUNCH. I loved seeing Sara and Yuki together before his parents showed up at his house and he so easily gave her up. He didn't even LOOK at, rather he appeared to be ashamed. I think Sara is VERY generous bringing Shouda to the Umezawa house. Yuki does NOT deserve it. And Shouda....what a wonderful little boy and SO smart. I hope this time that Yuki shows some substance of character in regards to Sara and Shouda, but especially in regards to his mother, who appears to be a tyrant. Sara and Shouda must really be strong in the face of Mrs. Umezawa-san, because they cannot necessarily count on good ole Yuki. I feel sorry for his wife...a little. It is not her fault.
I cannot wait to read more of your story....it is VERY VERY GOOD.

The night they separated was not one of his greatest moments for sure. I think Sara took him because she couldn't refuse to. How can you possible deny your child the opportunity to know his father? I think everyone is starting to evolve, regardless of how they were in the past or how they are even now. That is what life does to us...my opinion.

You have a yea from me. This is great. I like the differences in the culture and how Sara lets Yuki mother know what is going to be.
Let Sara and Yuki determine what will be of their child, not his overbearing mother.
As for Yuki wife, I feel bad for her...however, it appears they have no love for one another. How sad.
At least Yuki wants to own up to his son and his mother wants a grandson. She means well, however, she needs to back off. I think Yuki father has some sense.
