Oh my gooooosh Carr! You are magic, there is so much magic in your words. I'm just like so speechless how easily you play with my emotions.
That scene between Alec and Charlie when they were explaining to each other about what led to her running away - if I wasn't in a public place there would have been several tears running down my cheeks.
This story is so earthy, no pretences just some good ol' real life thrown into it.
Oliver is such a strong character, and so is Charlie.
Honestly you're one of those writers who are too good to be true because the quality of your work is so high it really shouldn't be made free.
And just you didn't know I recommended 'The Lovers Dance" in my book club on my blog.
You're phenomenal Carr.

Amazing story. This was my first read and I really enjoyed it. I hate deadbeat parents, so I was relieved when the reveal was made as to why Charlie left. I'm hoping the next chapter focuses on these two healing their marriage. Bye Vanessa.

Olly is a little sneaky one playing mom against dad, that a kid for you but it's adorable. The convo between Charlie and Olly made me want to cry, if she don't see how much these kids need her she has to be blind.

Girl... This chapter brought back memories, when we adopted our daughter we search for her family, because we wanted her to learn where she came from and who her biological family was, and for her to learn her family medical history. We didn't find anyone because her mother was a ward of the state, but we did find a picture of her biological mother and a baby picture of herself that the hospital took when she was born. And to say this child was so happy to see what her mother looked like, it gave us a sense of peace. I'm glad they talked and put their feeling on the table. All I can say is Vanessa who?

My heart goes out to Jamie, that child feels forgotten and that stays with a child for a long time. I have 6 children and 1 grandbaby and I carve out time for them all. I have triplets 2 boys and 1 girl, one of my sons like boxing so we do that together, my other son likes swimming and we do that together our daughter 1/3 of our triplets like fashion and singing and we do that together. Our oldest daughter like art and dancing so we do that together, my grandbaby likes cartoons so we watch cartoons together just me and her, girl there are some good cartoons on television these days. I just want them all to feel special. Jamie needs for someone to make him feel special because all he can see is Olly has everyones attention. My poor Jamie!

Girl.. I work with children just like Olly and I see the pain each family member goes through and It's heartbreaking. I wouldn't change my profession for any thing because I know it's my purpose to help children and to be that comfort that their parents need. I don't know what to say about Vanessa well I think Alec said it all, I bet that woman won't overstep again. Alec needs to work through his feelings about his marriage either piss or get off the pot ( Divorce ).

I going to say this I don't like Vanessa. She's overstepping her place in Alec and the boys life. How dare she!! try and say that Charlie is a criminal and that she might hurt the boys MITCH PLEASE!!!. Alec heart and body knows where it belongs and it's not with Vanessa.

There's some validity to how Alec is acting towards Charlie she did abandon them, but he's going overboard with it. She understands and takes responsibility for her actions and she's there now, so Alec calm down! and deal with it. I love that his parents don't hold no ill will toward her and that they treated her as if she didn't leave at all. Make me wonder hows Vanessa relationship is with his parents, I mean she is in a relationship with a married man. And Jamie reaction to his mother was understandable, she would have to build a relationship and friendship with her son. This story is so good!!

The kind of love Alec and Charlie have is eternal. Vanessa knows that her time with Alec is coming to an end and she's trying to stop that by any means necessary.

The love a mother have for her children, and the love children have for their parents is amazing!! I feel the connection and the guilt she feels towards her child. We as mothers would trade places with our children and be the one to suffer. I'm invested in this story already.

This is the realest thing I've read on this sight. This is very good, you should have way more reviews. The story is written very well bc of its complex adult issues. Compared to the other stories on here with 20 yr olds falling in love with millionaires, I consider an estranged husband and wife reconnecting over their son's battle with cancer pretty complex and adult. This story is very good. Please continue writing this and anything else in the future!
